Glenn Beck Suspended From SiriusXM Radio Over Comments About Trump

SiriusXM Radio on Tuesday suspended talk show host Glenn Beck after Beck spoke with a guest who expressed hope that a “patriot will step up” to remove Donald Trump from office, should he win the presidency.

The satellite station suspended Beck’s program for the coming week and implied that the future of the show may be in doubt, based on comments from Beck that have been interpreted as an endorsement of anti-Trump violence should the presumptive Republican nominee win in November.

The controversy erupted when Beck agreed with conservative author Brad Thor, a frequent guest, as he fretted about the danger Trump poses to democratic institutions.

“This could bring down incredible heat on me, because I’m about to suggest something very bad. It is a hypothetical I am going to ask as a thriller writer,” Thor said. “With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as president? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional granted authority as president?”

“I would agree with you on that,” Beck said.

The comments were irresponsible, according to SiriusXM.

“SiriusXM encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion on our talk programs,” reads a statement from the company. “However, comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone.”

“For that reason, we have suspended The Glenn Beck Program from our Patriot channel for the coming week and are evaluating its place in our lineup going forward,” the statement continues. “SiriusXM is committed to a spirited, robust, yet responsible political conversation and believes this action reflects those values.”

Notice it was an if statement. If Trump earns it is not the same as just because. I wonder if you Trumptards would have reacted the same had these promises been made about Bush or Obama instead of your God-king Trump?

A part of me thinks he is only having this discussion because a man he doesn't like in Trump got the nomination. I wonder if he would still be saying this if Cruz was the nominee. Either way, I commend him for having the courage to discuss this very politically incorrect subject. To the people who are outraged by this discussion and the solution they came up with, what effective action do you suggest we do to a president that overstepped his constitutional authority as president? write letters, try to impeach him? what exactly do you think would be most effective?

Beck should be fired.

Beck is making all kinds of justifications in what he said.

Praying someone has a massive heart attack is a not threat, which is what some supposed Trumpkins said to the CO GOP.

But giving a list of pros & cons & talking about a patriot & removing people by all means is totally illegal.

I'm not a "Trumptard" (I'm not a Beck fan either) -- I'm betting the screams would have been even louder if it had been made about either Obama (that's racist!) or Bush (from the FoxNews/Hannity crowd.)

Personally, I'm just hoping that Glenn Beck goes away from media permanently, he's proven himself to be both unstable and a total liability to any cause that he purports to support. I'm pretty sure that Beck was just being stupid when yucking it up with this "guest" about some "patriot" rising up and "doing something" about Trump. Then again, drunk people are just being stupid when they get behind the wheel, but it doesn't matter much when said stupid person plows through some kid at a crosswalk.

Whatever anyone thinks of Trump, there should be no sadness over Beck getting the smackdown. He's been dumping on Ron Paul and liberty candidates for years. Then going completely off the deep end with his creepy, religious-like devotion to Cruz. He even called the damned Bushes honorable during the primary. Beck almost makes me believe the idea that mysterious forces plant controlled opposition frauds to implode and look like total goofballs to discredit certain ideas/movements.

Everybody, the more people who think you have jumped your barriers, the more people that are out there trying to kill your a**. The hope is that he would do fewer controversial acts that are constitutionally questionable aka Obamacare, no child left behind and in the case of Trump change libel laws, take another country's oil, use eminent domain for his private businesses etc etc etc

Would be simpler just to vote him out no? What is the point of killing him when the people will just vote in someone else like him? But go ahead and lead the charge. I'm sure people will follow you.

How well has voting the bum out worked out for this country? Kill one or two presidents over stepping their boundaries and you send a message that even stubborn, power hungry leaders would understand. Also you don't even have to kill anyone, just one or two convincing attempts at their lives would do the job.

And if for some reason the next person doesn't get the message and continues down the same road then you kill that one and the next one after him and so on. Not saying I would do it myself because I am not a patriot (more like a coward) but that would be the best way I can think of to fix the problem with lawless presidents.

He did not advocate killing Trump, they were having a discussion on ways to stop an out of control president who has overstepped his constitutional powers. Its nothing more than thought crime to say he advocated killing anyone.
