I really like this new blog feature. I think it could be interesting. So today I wrote a letter to the editor in response to people writing in against education reform here in the state of Indiana. I know public education isn't the best way to teach kids. Before the system is completely abolished I think there are steps to be taken to ensure that tax payers are getting the most out of their education tax dollars. Our government and state superintendent want to tie teacher pay to performance. The state has double education spending in the last decade, yet there has been little to no improvement. A lot of teachers and educators are against this system because they don't want to get paid based on how they teach. They want to get paid on how long they teach. Education reform will not punish good teachers. It will simply motivate teachers to do a good job. I think it's very interesting to see people squirm on this issue. Indiana is dominated with republican houses and a republican governor. It seems that it will pass. The new year will bring the results I believe. Should be interesting. Keep tuned in for more blogs about Indiana politics and happenings around the country.
