I found this as a comment on a DIGG..... very nice.
I think I will use it in all my comments......

Let's Make the 2008 Presidential Election Simple.

Here is a brief quiz. The only catch is, you have to be honest with yourself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.Y( ) / N( ): Do you believe we should bring home our troops from Iraq asap?

2.Y( ) / N( ): Do you believe the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks need to be brought to justice?

3.Y( ) / N( ): Do you believe America should build and maintain a world military empire?

4.Y( ) / N( ): Should you be in charge of you and your dependents' health care?

5 Y( ) / N( ): Do you believe that the U.S. Constitution is THE Law of the Land for America?

6.Y( ) / N( ): Is America's education system headed in the right direction?

7.Y( ) / N( ): Is America's sovereignty important to you?

8.Y( ) / N( ): Should America pay interest to a private company, to borrow money from that company, to be used as currecny in the United States?

9.Y( ) / N( ): Is having foreign troops policing American streets a good idea?

10.Y( )/ N( ): Should you be made to abide by law that does not exist in the United States Constitution?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This should provide you with a basic guideline, to choose a candidate that best fits your idea of what a president should be doing. All of the candidates have more or less answered these questions with their actions and words. Researching their respective websites, or calling their campaign headquarters will provide you with more information than I can provide here, as some have some lengthy explanations for what they believe. Feel free to substitute your favorite questions or add them to the list. When researching each candidate, I would recommend not only visiting their websites, but also those who oppose them, to give you a broader view on their positions.

For comparison, I have given my answers, and my reasons why...

1. Yes. The invasion of Iraq in 2003 had no basis. There was no Al-Qaida (?) in Iraq before this. There was no congressional declaration of war. Their were no WMD's. There is no proof of Saddam Hussein's involvement in 911. If, on their own, the Iraqi people asked us for help, to topple a cruel and oppressive dictator, then allow congress to examine the evidence and then act accordingly.

2. Yes. Regardless of who was responsible for 911, they should be brought to justice, and have their day in court. This would require reopening a 911 commission. This time made up of people not on the government payroll, or getting kickbacks from the government. As of today, the FBI has yet to charge Osama Bin Laden, or anyone else, as the ringleader, due to lack of evidence.

3. No. America was formed from the desire to be free. Imposing America's will and influence by having our troops on foreign soil, without that country's permission, is a drain on the economoy, anathema to the American way, and an act of WAR.

4. Yes. The essence of being a free man, is to be able to make your own decisions within the framework of the Constitution. Nothing is more personally owned than your own body. There should be no one forcing you to manage your body. Your children, and elderly dependents, rely on you to make good decisions concerning their health. It would be the worst kind of tragedy to let this authority slip to anyone else.

5. Yes. The Constitution was made to define the laws of this country. Anything left out of the Constitution, is left to the states to legislate. Period. No other laws apply to the United States. The U.S. is the first country ever to define what the government is allowed to do, as opposed to telling it's citizens what they must do. To give this up, would be to give up the Republic, and take the only 223 years of freedom the world has ever seen, and flush them away.

6. No. As can be seen clearly by our international rankings, we are in an appalling place. Not only that, but it seems as though it is getting even worse. School shootings are on the rise. Teen pregnancies rose 13% last year. College students spend 10 to 20 years paying off school loans. There is no excuse for the mightiest nation on earth to also be the least educated, this is a dangerous mix. Throwing money at this will not solve the problem, the system needs overhauled.

7. Yes. The introduction of The North American Union, THE NAU , despite current official denials, is a fact. There is a plan in place to merge Canada, Mexico, and The United States. They have already starting building the Trans-Texas corridor. They have already signed a security and prosperity partnership act, unsupervised by congress or the people of the United States. For God's sake they are already test marketing the AMERO! In addition to this, most Latin American countries are having this kind of referendum forced upon them also with virtually no support in any country. Any elected official, who signs secret agreements with other nations, is a traitor.

8. No. Why is this even necessary? Who set this up? We, the American people, pay the federal reserve, interest on all the money we BORROW from them!. The Federal Reserve is not a government agency. The moneys they collect go to other nations. Why not just print our own money, and back it with gold and/or silver to make it powerful and attractive to investors?

9. No. Having foreign troops on American soil, without the behest of the American people, is an act of WAR. Just like we should not occupy another country, no country should occupy us. We have enough police already. If you don't think we have enough police, consider this: The war on drugs has stuck 3.7 million men and women into the US penal system. Drug addiction, like alcohol or gambling or overeating is a disease, and should be treated as such. Legalization of all drugs is the only way to go. It is up to the individual to seek help for their own personal problems. There is no law against buying air, however you can inject it just as easily as heroin, and it is far more deadly. Repeal the prohibition on drugs, and you will reduce the number of abusers, reduce the amount of people in the penal system, have extra police for whatever, and have no need for UN forces to EVER be in the United States.

10. No. No other entity has jurisdiction over the United States. Amendments that were not ratified by two thirds of the states should be stricken from Constitution. This includes the 16th and 14th amendments. Again, if it is not clearly in the Constitution, it is left for the individual states to legislate laws appropriate for it's citizens. Period.

Good luck on your searches!

14th amendment not ratified?

Please man.

Are you a constitutional law professor?

Have you even researched that claim?

Do you understand the legal consensus of the ratification procedures?
