I have been checking out Spotrunner and found that my meetup group can run about 120 commercials on CNBC, Headline News, MSNBC, and Animal Planet for under $2000. Only problem is, We dont have a good thrity second commerical that air quality. Does anybody know if a commercial is being developed and what the legal liabilities as far as the necessety of being a PAC or not. Any help is appreciated.

Alright listen.. ping me off of this forum

ronpaul4america@gmail.com

I had this idea too.... -- this is a very very good idea and one that needs to be explored.. BUT, you this is only my suggestion, you need to put forward something VERY nice.

do this..
1. check with Spotrunner and ask what format and dpi or whatever ... per inch they need. What resolution etc..

2. What formats will they take? Flash? WMV? AVI?

I can help with the PAC and other things and I am familiar with it.

Contact me... thanks

I like the one with: "Let's see what Ronald Reagan had to say about one of the candidates."

That's a quality video.

I'd like info on this as well.

It would be nice if HQ provided an official ad of some sort that we could use if we want to buy air time.

I don't think the stuff on youtube is high enough quality to be put on tv.. if you ever see youtube clips on E! or any tv network, they're usually framed within a frame, not full size. Some of the source files might be good enough, but personally, I don't know the technology well enough.

Do a great ass commercial and have it approved by Ron Paul. We need to get real professional video editors onboard, I know a few but they are probably not too interested in politics.

This video by Foofighter I think is AWESOME. It runs 44 seconds but could maybe be trimmed down to 30 seconds.

I also love the video about RP not spending taxpayer money for a medal for Reagan, but that runs 2 minutes.

Promote this above video though, it is AWESOME we need to rate it, comment and favorite it. Good job Foofighter!

Not sure about the music as far as royalties if it were used in a REAL commercial.

It's good. Since the 30 second one has to crunch down the amount of time each phrase is left on the screen, do you think that it might be beneficial to make the text larger, so that people will be more likely to catch what is being said? That is, if you plan to use something like this for a television commercial.

I'll try to make the text bigger when I get home from work tonight (it's 2pm here)

Also, I have no way of recording voice to the file... Although, I'm sure if you have the technology, more soundtracks can be laid.

PM me an email and I'll send you the high res final.

There isn't enough contrast between the colored text and the background on some shots. That's more important than the text size.

Yes, that IS a very good one.. BUT some of the font colors could be better.. like the reds and such.... white with black shadow etc.. will add legitimacy... I don't like red text :) But otherwise, very very good commercial.. BUT, can you use movie stills --?

...I know I know it's 8 minutes, but it is sexy as hell. The last song + a commercial organized and informational like that = kick ass.

There's one more thing to consider aside from the level of quality.

If you guys are going to run commercials on major cable networks, please observe copyright laws. If you don't, you may get more than you bargained for, more than a simple cease and desist. I'm sure you wouldn't violate intellectual property intentionally, but you could do it unintentionally.

RIAA is playing for keeps, and I'm sure they would love to go after a campaign--any campaign.

Yeah he rotated thru red, white and blue text. I like the concept, but if it was going to be televised, probably changing the red and blue text to white, for legibility, would be good (?)

It is a GREAT 30 second commercial and is especially good for getting the older crowd who may not be all over the internet. (i.e. they will know who Mr. Smith is!)

Something you may want to look into is getting a discount on buying ads months in advance.

A lot of campaigns will buy ads in the summer for slots during the first weekend in November.

If you know when your state's primary is you can schedule the ads for the days before it. You might get a discount.

Though, imagine if Ron Paul could fill all slots the night before the primary election...

Thats good. The music may need to fade out a little more at the end.
