View Full Version : Why does the PLPF slate have to be a coalition of the *other* candidates?

Everyone keeps talking about the PLPF slate consisting of the other candidates and party hacks coming together to keep us down - that may be the case, but I highly doubt that all of the PLPF delegates are committed to a vote.

When do you guys have your state convention? I'm sure there's plenty of time to try and convince the PLPF delegates that got nominated to convert to Paul, especially with the other choices they've been given.

Why don't we stop demonizing the PLPF delegates and instead try and convert them?

Heck - they're even uncommitted (depending on Feb. 9, of course) until the national convention. Plenty of time for conversion - but it would help to get them before the state convention, to get some long-time RP people to nats.

I dunno......just an idea.

Because it was a coalition of other candidates. Technically, all delegates to the state convention are 'uncommitted'. But most of them are not friendly to Dr. Paul.

But if it was the other candidates, why did McCain and Romney have separate slates? (If I understand it correctly)

Thats what i'm wondering, How do we know this was a coalition of all the other republican candidates? Most of what i've seen here is unofficial and rumour.

Also from what I read Pro-Life/Pro-family does not support Mccain.

Maybe they actually ARE simply Pro-Life, Pro-Family, in which case we have a shot!! Wouldn't that be surprising?

I didn't actually consider that might be the situation before. I just thought it was a nasty, nasty trick...which it likely is.

Nor do they support Romney or Rudy. The ones I talked to are Thompson and Huckabee leaning. I think we can convert them. I tried to convert the 5 I talked to.

And thus now only Huck. Aren't Huck supporters the "easiest" to bring over to the good side?
