Voted in district 1. In 1988 I finally got around to voting and cast my first vote for president by voting for the Libertarian candidate: Ron Paul. Tonight, my daughter voted for the first time ever. For her candidate: Ron Paul
Here we are voting (from left:daughter, wife, me).
Proud moment indeed!!!!!

The results aren't in yet. But we are the only organized effort at district 1. There was a Mitt Romney person handing out sample ballots but Romney had no alternates, so I KNOW Paul will win the alternates! Paul had the most supporters and had a room rented on the side of the reception area (very cool!) and in grand Louisiana style, there was wine and beer flowing. I was pleasantly surprised and not nervous at all. The grasroots folks here are amazing amazing amazing. I think they oughta hire themselves out to the campaign!

That's the way to do it. I didn't take high school seriously, and so I never got TOPPS.
So I usually end up working Air Conditioning one semester, then go back to school and bus tables on the side the next semester.

After following this campaign through all these states so far, Nevada and Louisiana are really starting to win me over for potential places to hang my hat after college. And I love New Orleans so much...had a great time when I went down there to visit, I wanted to come down there and help rebuild it.

and unusual. Can you tell me what the long list you have on that piece of paper you seem to be marking is all about? How many options or candidates are on there?
Louisiana politics has always had a reputation for...chicanery, shall we say. The delegate process is more about political infrastructure than a primary or outright voting. I see us learning from Wyoming to improve caucusing skills in Nevada and Louisiana. Washington State has a caucus and I know the Ron Paul people are busy on the ground there (Feb. 19 caucus) and Montana activity is evident too.
Does this caucus system seem better to you that you have in Loiuisiana? Ron Paul activists on the ground in Louisiana think they have a leg up because they are better organized and in a caucus that could translate into delegates at the state convention.
Also, is it normal for photographs and video cameras to be permitted inside of polling places? That is so not done here.

For those asking about the ballot, there were about 70 people running for delegate spots, and about 30 running for alternate spots. So they are X'ing off 15 out of 70 candidates on one side, and 13/30 on the other.

The best part about this picture...after all the canvessing, caucusing, bitching, screaming, complaining, fighting, cheering, RON PAUL'N, Hannity chasing, media ignoring, yelling...
THIS is why I live in the USA...I can vote on who I want to lead this country. It may be the best gift our founding fathers left us.
