Previously the National Right to Life Committee has endorsed Fred Thompson. Since he has dropped from the race, please send an e-mail requesting they take a look at Ron Paul's position and record.

This would be a great idea. If we could cut into some of the christian vote we could make some serious headway.

“Jane Roe” Endorses Ron Paul on Roe v. Wade Anniversary

Ron Paul’s consistent pro-life stand throughout his years in congress — not to mention his years as an OB/GYN — has won him the support of Norma McCorvey, who was Jane Roe in the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision thirty-five years ago today. She has since become a pro-life activist, leading Crossing Over Ministry (formerly Roe No More Ministry). Here’s what she says about Dr. Paul:

“I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v Wade. Ron Paul doesn’t just talk about being pro-life, he acts on it. His voting record truly is impeccable and he undoubtedly understands our constitutional republic and the inalienable right to life for all. Ron Paul is the prime author of H.R. 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v. Wade. As the signor of the affidavit that legalized abortion 35 years ago I appreciate Ron Paul’s action to restore protection for the unborn. Ron Paul has also authored H.R. 1094 in Congress, which seeks to define life as beginning at conception. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn.

“After taking all of the presidential candidates into consideration, it is obvious that Ron Paul is the only one that doesn’t just talk the talk. For this reason and those stated above, I am publicly endorsing Ron Paul for president.”

The NRA endorsed him too?

maybe?

Read the last line.

(And for you Ron Paul fans: yes, he's great on guns, but the NRA hates his guts for voting against a key piece of legislation they wanted — no way he gets their backing.)

To whom it may concern,

I am a very concerned U.S. resident in regards to the abortion issue. I believe and know that life begins at conception and that intentional termination in the name of convenience is premeditated murder although I do understand that a lot of ignorance surrounds the issue.

Your organisation publicly endorsed Fred Thompson for President due to his stances on the abortion issue. As he has now dropped out of the race I would urge you to consider endorsing Congressman Ron Paul.

Ron Paul has been a staunch supporter of life for his entire career. As a devout Christian man as well as an experienced specialist in obstetrics/gynecology who has delivered more than 4000 babies he knows the importance of this issue all to well.

Today Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe) publically endorsed Ron Paul with the following statement at a press conference:-

"I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v. Wade. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn..." (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/01/22/599487.aspx)

Ron Paul has introduced pro-life legislation into the Congress on many occasions and is very keen to end Roe vs Wade is he is elected as President.

I sincerely thank you for reading this request.

God bless,

Scott Wilson

I was able to get on the Mike Fleming talk radio show out of Memphis, TN tonight. He was about to have on a guest to talk about pro-life issues. I managed to make the points that 1) now Fred Thompson is out of the race Ron Paul is the only true Conservative left running for President and 2) that Jane Roe had just today endorsed Ron Paul.

That's two shows today where I've plugged Ron Paul. One yesterday. Half-a-dozen in total last week.

Local talk radio is easy to get on and FREE advertising!

Please email Illinois Citizens for Life to help correct their Pro-Life rating for Ron Paul. They have rated Ron Paul as a "2"; does not support all Pro-Life issues which can't be accurate. Many, many voters use solely this list to determine their vote. Ron Paul should definitely be listed as a "1". As you can see, Huckabee will get a lot of automatic support from the un-informed. Let's get this changed - asap!

Illinois Citizens for Life
February 5, 2008, Illinois Primary Election Information
Presidential Candidates Rating

1 - MIKE HUCKABEE (R)
1 - FRED THOMPSON (R) (dropped out)
2 - JOHN McCAIN (R)
2 - RON PAUL (R)
2 - MITT ROMNEY (R)

1 = Fully Pro-Life
2 = Not in full support of all Pro-Life issues
3 = Will not support most Pro-life issues
4 = Totally opposed to Pro-Life issues

Points to mention in your email:

1) Sponsored a bill to define life as beginning at conception.
2) Would leave pro-life legislation up to the states; get the Federal Govt out of the issue by overturning Roe v Wade via legislation.
3) Under our Republic, States rightly have sovereignty over this issue.
4) Ron Paul as President (unlike others) would actually DO something about the issue.

PS I spoke with ICL's main lobbyist and he explained why they have Ron as a "2". Evidently Ron voted against legislation that would make it a crime for a parent to transport a minor across state lines to avoid the state's abortion laws. Knowing Ron, he would have had a very good reason for voting against this. Does anyone have more information about this? This link explains the legislation in question:

http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Ron_Paul_Abortion.htm

These must be the votes in question:

Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act; Bill HR 748 - Voted NO
Unborn Victims of Violence Act; Bill HR 1997 - Voted NO
Human Cloning Prohibition Act; Bill HR 534 - Voted NO

Isn't it obvious? It violates the parent's freedom. Going across state lines means that the child is no longer in state A's jurisdiction. Congress has the right to regulate interstate commerce but not to limit noncommercial travel between state lines, no matter what the purpose.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately this isn't obvious to everyone, and especially not to the NRLC - an organization with tremendous influence over Republican Primary voters.

We need to explain clearly why they need to change their rating/endorsement or it won't happen, and they'll move on to endorsing Huckabee.

Contact ICL and the NRLC. Apparently they do not understand how our Republican form of government works.
