seems weird to me that they would report this... it's from this (http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2008/01/22/huckabee-trims-costs-in-us-race-for-presidency/) article...seems a little early for things like this no?

"...Huckabee said no Republican has established himself as a front-runner, and therefore winning delegates in largely overlooked states can be as important as winning closely watched states such as Florida. Some party activists speculate that Huckabee hopes to win enough second-tier states to cut a deal later, such as a vice presidential spot on McCain’s ticket, should McCain win the nomination..."

Why is everyone acting like McCain is the frontrunner when Romney is beating him?

My wife and I decided weeks ago that McCain and Huckabee were teaming up. We believe that they made a pact to tear down Romney and that whoever won would pick the other for VP. They've been kissing each other's asses for weeks.

They knew that Rudy and Thompson would be "also rans" and they figure that everyone believes that Ron Paul is a fringe candidate. In thier minds, they have it in the bag if they can beat Romney.

I think Romney will in the nomination if we can't win it. I simply cannot see Rudy, Mike, or John getting the nomination - never could.

At least I can vote for Romney in the general election - there's no way that I could vote for the other three.

None-the-less: RON PAUL OR BUST!!!!!!

Although Romney is far ahead in delegates, McCain is getting the big mediahype these days.

Oh please let anyone but McCain win Florida!!

Yea but McCain is also getting the big Rush hatchet in his back (and I'm glad Rush is doing it - he's absolutely right - McCain has been stabbing us in the back for years).

The media keeps shifting their attention, from the Ghoul to Romney to Huck to Romney again and now McCain is the one being played up.

Why is everyone acting like McCain is the frontrunner when Romney is beating him?

Because McCain has won the "hard" states (NH and SC), while Romney has picked up delegates in "uncontested" states.

At least that is their reasoning.

Yeah. that's what's going down. Sides are forming up.
There is the Media/McCane/Huck side and the Rush/Coulter/Romney side.

I think there's a VP slot for Doc Paul from camp Romney if we play it right.
For now, Paul is in it to win it and I am backing him for top slot-But I would support a Romney/Paul ticket over a media-ordained McCain-anybody ticket any day of the week.

Remeber that Jefferson was VP for big-government Adams before he got his shot. That's history worth repeating.

It would be difficult for me to support Romney, even with Paul as VP. But, I don't think Paul would agree to be VP unless Romney changed his position on the war...in which case I would be more apt to support the ticket.

The ticket that would really make sense in Paul-Romney. :D I don't see anyone else Paul could even remotely consider as VP. Plus, Romney is such a flip-flopper that he would immediately adapt all of Paul's positions without a problem.

Romney is smart enough to know what he doesnt know. This is why he may court Ron Paul as VP or a top advisor. Romney needs his advisors to make all his descisons while he plays president if he wins.

Romney is king panderer and will do whatever it takes to please people he could easily be influenced by Ron Paul. Ron Paul would also steal a lot of independents from the Dems in a general. Wherever Ron Pauls name is on the ticket is where I put the mark.
