..to anyone in a calendar year, and they are NOT liable for any federal income tax on such a gift. This is because you have already paid the taxes on such a gift. They, of course, can do whatever they want with their now tax free money.

not for presidential campaigns though?????? Are you sure about that NOT just being for regular earnings and donations......


pretty sure ron paul would have said something as well as have a nice 10k donate option on the site instead of the $2300.

by all means school the nation if you are correct but if NOT please double check things before tossing things like this out there that could get people in trouble.

So would that be a way around McCain Feingold? Even if you had to pay taxes..

For example, could one of Hillarys good friends give her a gift of a million dollars because they think so highly of her, then once the taxes are paid could she give the remainder to her political campaign?

Just wondering.

I think what cricket was getting at was that you could give money to a broke Ron Paul supporter and they could donate it.
