I don't believe in college (though I've picked up a couple of Information Systems / Business Administration degrees and might go for a cheesy little MBA via distance-learning when I have more time).

I'm a programmer. I could make some money with it when I was 14, degree or no degree, and I still can today the very same way, working part time on my own terms.

Degree? Half-finished BA in computer and network systems. There was no point finishing it when I can teach half the classes.

So now I'm something of an expert on computers, from soldering the boards, fixing the machines, connecting and networking, all operating systems, etc. At a small company I can fill in for four or five different IT guys with my skillsets. ;)

As my slightly-not-right-in-the-head sociology professor quoted from David Wolf, "Idealism is what precedes experience; cynicism is what follows."

So many people out there are so disaffected with politics in general, but the Doc has the medicine.:)

And yeah, from taking an advanced mathematics course in Double Fourier Series, non-homogenous, non-linear eigenvalues/functions, blah, blah, blah, I'd say you math guys are VERY idealistic;) Too many impractical assumptions. Where the hell am I going to find a material which perfectly insulates? An infinitely long string?

The stuff I just mentioned is probably elementary to you, though...

Jack of all trades, master of none. Completed the credits and successfully challenged an exam for a major in Psychology, did half the program for a degree in Psychiatric Nursing, half an International MBA with completed certificates in Economics, Accounting and Marketing. This all helped lead me to my current state of successful self-employment.

At least you don't have mountains of college debt. Lucky! Me, I have the credits necessary for a minor in music, but I got them at a community college, so ASU won't "officially" recognize it (that is, they'll only accept a transfer of about a third of the necessary credits). I've also got a CCL in graphic design hanging on my wall. This makes me a highly credentialed unemployed person. lol :p

BA in Psychology, graduated Summa Cum Laude too. Ask me how many employment doors THAT opened for me (HINT: none). Gonna write the LSAT in October and apply to law school next year. I'm not really complaining because I loved my university experience, but if I had to do it all again, I'd probably do my undergrad in Commerce or something. Psychology is fucking worthless employment-wise unless you go all the way to PhD, which would mean 7+ MORE years in school AFTER your B.A. Not interested, I don't want to be 30 by the time I'm employable.

Never did the college thing

I love learning in life, online and in books

A piece of paper to put on my wall? eh... not really TOP on my "things to do list".

If I were to go however it would odds are be related to sales and business marketing

As far as a major, unknown because I tend to bounce from idea to idea and don't really see myself doing "one thing" for my life.

Odds are if I started going to school I would end up getting multi degrees just due to wanting to keep learning but doubt I would ever put any of those papers to real use.

9 out 10 people I know WITH degrees are not working at a place where it even matters Or even related to their degree. This makes me believe that college is pretty b.s unless you have an "out" to go to after that can get you setup.

Maybe my study in international trade gave me some intellectual foundation to absorb Dr. Paul's no nonsense foreign policy as soon as I heard it.
Dr. Paul's foreign policy is 100% right on the money.
Trading with people brings much more good than bombing and killing people.
