Pat "war a minor drag on the economy" - I heard him say it. He might have mispoke.

Or he's just off his meds today. Or he's just aiming for another book deal.

In all these considered, the war is a minor drag on the economy when you consider cost. It is our foreign policy in general that is a major drag. Pat doesn't really understand inflation so I don't think he bothers including it.

Mort considers the economy booming when the fed lowers interest rates and you see the DOW go up 300 points. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

When Pat said minor I think he was saying that the Iraq war is just a minor part of what's wrong with our government's spending habits.

Mort Zuckerman, economist? Oh, that's right, no he isn't:

"As of 2007, Mort Zuckerman is the 188th wealthiest American[1] as per Forbes."

"He is a member of the JPMorgan's National Advisory Board, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and the International Institute of Strategic Studies."

"In their 2006 paper The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, John Mearsheimer, political science professor at the University of Chicago, and Stephen Walt, academic dean of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, named Zuckerman as a member of the media wing of the "Israeli lobby" in the United States.[6] Zuckerman replied: "I would just say this: The allegations of this disproportionate influence of the Jewish community reminds me of the 92-year-old man sued in a paternity suit. He said he was so proud, he pleaded guilty." [6]"

"He occasionally appears on The McLaughlin Group and writes columns for U.S. News & World Report and the New York Daily News, usually taking liberal to centrist positions on political matters. Between 2001 and 2003, Zuckerman was the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations."

Monica Crowley, of course, is a nobody ditto-head for the Bush administration.

Could someone edit this to the Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash its' a drag, drag, drag!"

Bad news for us. Great news for economic transparency canvassing.
