Just reporting on ABC 7 in San Francisco... California is not a winner take all state after all.. The state republican party has changed its rules where all delegates wont be awarded to the states winner. It will be awarded on a county by county basis. So people, it doesn't matter where we come in overall, we just have to turn out the votes in counties that conservatives wont even think of. Such as super liberal San Francisco City County, Alameda County (Oakland and Berkeley). Moderate-Conservative Counties such as Contra Costa County, and Santa Clara, San Mateo. Trumpeting LA and Orange would be awesome. Less Denser Counties in the Northern Portion such as Del Norte, Mendocino Counties (Counties that Border Oregon) and San Bernardino County (County that Border Las Vegas).
We have to get about 12 counties out of the 58 in the state in order to make an impact. However, half of the votes would be by absentee before February 5th so getting out the vote is crucial in those liberal counties. Ron Paul is doing radio ads on KGO a widely viewed station in the Bay Area (on talk shows various listeners talk about Paul but the hosts always disregard them). Obama is the only Democrat right now doing TV spots, toting he wants change but it sounds corny.
P.S: The college vote here is not going to be in our favor because many people are blindly supporting Democrats. They are all in the media hype especially in the University of California and State University of California system.. Most are either Obama, Hillary votes - not giving it any crucial thought. Majority of students are democrats because of the 2006 effect. Bill Clinton was at UC Davis just last week, Obama made several stints in the Bay Area. Plus schools are returning this past week or this week such as San Francisco State. Students wont even think about politics until last minute. That is bad because voter registration ends tomorrow (22nd) at midnight.
However, I am a Ron Paul Democrat - moderate democrat, just switched my affiliation. Recently I went to a young democrats event retreat in Lake Tahoe in November, the leadership of these people sounded like the college girl who was on CNN saying that they want democrats and don't know why. It seemed to me that it was borderline Nazism. "We have to get a democrat in at all cost, beat the repubs in November" They were spouting out so many statistics that if you vote one party 3 times in your early lifetime then you are automatically committed to the party for life. Which I think is bull.. So bump this and give crucial comments to it.
