The Texas primary is March 4th. We have located a prime location for a Ron Paul Billboard off the heavily traveled I-35 corridor. The billboard faces North bound traffic and is split into two sections 9x30 and 7x30, it is also front and back which is a big plus. The location is on the upper deck split of I-35, which is next to the Capitol, downtown and the University of Texas. The advantage of using a billboard off the upper deck is that since it's elevated there are no other eye catching objects within view. Another plus is that the South bound traffic will also see it since there are no other obstructions in their view. The traffic bogs down from 7am to 9am and from 3pm to 7pm so people will be at a slow pace or stand still to view this billboard. We will use the top billboard to display a fresh new design with 3 key issues and use the bottom sign to display Ron Paul 2008 and primary info in the biggest font to ensure drivers see it. With this location we will not only reach locals but also interstate commuters passing through. The daily commuter circulation is 250,000 so we will reach a large number of people versus the cost of the ads. The cost of leasing these two billboards is $4,000 a month. The cost for 4 sheets of vinyl, printing, shipping and installation is $2,000. This is a bargain considering other billboards that I priced that are one directional and listing for $6,000 just for the monthly lease itself. Contribute to our campaign and we can do our part to expand awareness of Ron Paul and his message of liberty.

Donate Now!!! This is a drop in the bucket compared to the blimp. Get this rolling the second it is funded it will be up indefintely till March 4th and later.

You are going to have to set up a website or some method for people to contribute.

Okay, I see a link now. Try to negotiate the price a little more. If the billboard is blank right now they aren't getting ANY money for it so they may haggle with you. I know people who do that with remnant space in newspapers all the time.

Make sure you mention that if Ron Paul wins the nomination you will be looking to run more ads for the general election. The possibility of future business is a good carrot to dangle.

Well I am not affiliated with this group just promting its cause. The deal is great for a two sided double decker. It is privately owned and not by a major company. It will not be taken down unless the owner pays for it which is unlikely. I heard the bill board before was so hideous that people havent touched it in months. This is huge the top part will have key issues while the bottom will give information on primaries. I am sure illegal imagration is a huge topic in TX, and will win many votes over it.

Billboards are a cost effective way to get the name out.

Direct mail and/or local newpaper ads can also provide more info in a cost effective manner.

The billboard isn't blank right now it has an hideous advertisement for a company that's out of business. I erased the ad and made it blank.

$6,000 covers the 4 week lease for 2 billboards that are stacked on top of each other, 4 sheets of vinyl, printing, shipping and installation.
The billboard is bi-directional and has a DEC that's over 250,000 commuters, so for that amount of views this price is a bargain. If you were to price the other billboards that are one directional in that area you would get a quote around $6,000 just for the lease. I have priced them and the billboards owned by these big companies are expensive. The one I'm leasing is owned by a guy who owns the office space below it. Which is another plus because once it's up, he is not going topay out of his own pocket to bring the Ad down. It could be up for months until someone else leases that space. I have negotiated the last 3 states down once we got to the actual contract signing so hopefully we can shave some off. I'm looking for local printing companies this week, this will at least cut the shipping costs. I can use the quote from the printing company I have been working with as a price to negotiate with. I have made great contacts within this industry for markets nationwide so once we have this one complete we will move on to other states the grassroots deems important.

For those not familiar with us, we are a not for profit grassroots organization. We formed in late November and launched 4 billboards in 3 states in the course of a month. Our first project was a huge 14x 48 digital billboard in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; then downtown Manchester, New Hampshire; 2 in Columbia, South Carolina with one making the local NBC news cast. Now we are 100% focused on Texas so we can have the biggest lead time in order reach the most people before the primary.
