I was listening to some financial radio show and I heard Peter Schiff - who is one of the few on Wall St. that I listen to - mention he is supporting Ron Paul, and had given $2300... he also urged those listening to do the same

So I thought, financially speaking, that is a key audience...the CNBC/financially coherent crowd...

heres my letter to L. Kudlow who is a CNBC regular/cheerleader, but is always harping on low taxes and less spending etc, and from what I can tell reads his emails:

Mr. Kudlow,

I watch you show occasionally, and although I disagree with you on many issues, I whole-heartedly agree in the underlying idea that a free market promotes both financial security, and personal liberty. I believe you are quite sincere in your desire for a strong America and prosperous economy, so I wanted to make a simple request:

I think we can both agree that Americans - and the free market system itself - need lower, and fairer, taxes. I think we can also agree that the American government has become fiscally un-conservative. And most of all, I think we'd both agree we need a candidate for 2008 that shares theses beliefs, UNDERSTANDS monetary and economic policy, and practices what they preach.

The problem is 1) There are no democrats who fit this bill and 2) 9 out of the 10 republican candidates are pro pre-emptive warfare, and the continuation of hostilities in Iraq. If the GOP elects any of those 9 they will almost undoubtedly lose in the general election when the polls show over %70 of the public want withdrawal, and a growing number calling for impeachment. Therefore, supporting a no-win, pro-war neo-conservative is a ticket for more socialism, whether in come from the right or the left. We need to understand this!

But here is the interesting thing, there is 1 candidate who is the most conservative member of the congress (in the Goldwater and Taft mold), voted against the Iraq War from the beginning (talk about pulling independents and democrats over!) and takes the conservatve non-interventionist (talk and trade) aproach to foreign policy. A candidate who has NEVER voted for a tax increase, wants to eliminate the income tax (as you know we did fantastic without one pre-1913) and the IRS, wants to ELIMINATE whole government agencies like the department of education (as you know, the constitution makes the issue of education quite clear), subsidies for anything and everything, organizations like the bloated and inefficient U.S. postal service... and believe me Larry, the list goes on and on

He is known as Dr. "No" for his courage, and consistency, in voting NO on any bill that is not supported by the constitution, whether it sound like a fantastic idea or even if it brings pork to his own district... lobbyists and special interests don't even bother with him any more. I'm not sure if you know this but he was one of only four in the congress to endorse Reagan in '76 , and guess what, when it came to giving his buddy and one of our better presidents a gold metal he voted NO, asking the congressmen to each put up $100 for it rather than steal it from the taxpayers.

Also, he is the only candidate who understands monetary policy, serving as ranking member (I believe) on the house banking committee, he has penned numerous commentaries on economic and financial policies/events, and is an adherent to the economic ideas of Von Misses, Hayek, and Rothbard... he is the only one I know who challenges the Federal Reserve Chairman(s) on the increase in money supply, the perpetually dropping value (in absolute and relative terms, against milk and against Euro) of the Dollar and the secrecy of the FED...

Of course he has a lot of enemies, who have tried to marginalize and exclude him, even though he is considered the most conservative member of the congress, a libertarian at heart, and truly the taxpayers best friend. Larry, as I said earlier I believe you are true in what you say and therefore I plead with you to have Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, candidate for the Republican party, on your show as a guest. He has been ignored and slandered in the press, even though he is the # 1 candidate on youtube, has almost 50,000 myspace friends, has more cash on hand the John McCain, and got MORE MILITARY DONATIONS THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE!

Larry, please live up to your promise of trying to "Keep America Great" and invite one of the very few true statesmen of our time on your show. I guarantee that you, and your audience, will not be disappointed...

Sincerely,
Jonathon E. Ogden
New York, NY

p.s. If you want to learn about Rep. Paul go to www.youtube.com or www.google.com and simply search for Ron Paul, you will be amazed.

Keep us informed. I don't expect Kudlow to lend any support to RP because of foreign policy. Look what Kudlow wrote (http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZGEzNDhlMTg0NzQwNzk1YTQ1YjQzZjliODU1ZTM5MzE) about Michael Scheuer on National Review (neocon central).

Former CIA analyst Michael Scheuer told me on CNBC last night that Eli Lake's New York Sun report on the new National Intelligence Estimate of the global terrorist threat concerning al Qaeda in Iran was wrong. Scheuer casually dismissed the report as a function of that newspaper’s obsession in defending Israel. Oh really? In fact, Lake culled his information from the NIE report itself.

So why would Scheuer dismiss the Iranian connection?

Well, ace military reporter Rowan Scarborough, formerly with the Washington Times and now with the Washington Examiner, fingers Scheuer in his new book Sabotage: America’s Enemies Within the CIA. Turns out Scheuer wrote Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror. It’s a Bush-bashing exercise that got him on 60 Minutes and produced a free-reign platform for Bush opponents.

Of course, Scheuer and his pals at the CIA never caught bin Laden. So if the West was really losing, aren’t the CIA analysts partly responsible?
First, Kudlow didn't even know who Scheuer is. Second, anyone who has actually read Imperial Hubris knows it is emphatically not a Bush-bashing exercise. So I'm not expecting any help from Kudlow, but who knows? Maybe I'll be surprised.

I found that Schiff statement on the goldismoney forum.
It is youtubed now:

I think getting more Financial Analysts to back him will be a good thing.

Edit: gotta love it when a financial analyst says, "he is the only guy worth backing"

Best shot for Peter Schiff to get more TV time will be CNBC. He is highschool friends with Liz Claman.

I listen to Kudlow and Company almost every weekday on Sirius on my way home from work. There is another regular guest on the show, named Don Luskin, who backs Ron Paul. Larry Kudlow, however, is another story.

Kudlow touts "free market capitalism" as the best political/economic system several times per show. However, I have come to accept the fact that Kudlow is actually a free market charleton. He is a pro-war neo-con who seems to be quite comfortable with the current Federal Reserve/big banking system. I am pretty sure Kudlow regularly meets personally with many of Bush's cabinet members.

He is always harping about lower taxes, however I will never forget his blatant hipocrisy when he had on Joe Liberman a few months ago. Liberman was kicking around the idea of instituting a new tax that would directly fund the war in Iraq. Kudlow was all excited about this and thought it was a great idea. I lost all respect for him after that. I still listen to the show just because I follow the financial markets and many of the guests are good.

I LOVE Peter Schiff.

Nice letter but Kudlow is in Bush's back pocket. I used to respect him but he is actually a neo-con shill.

Kudlow only has schiff on his show on days when kudlow is out. I wonder why.
