Sorry if this is common knowledge (only stop by every couple days) -

But what is so important about Louisiana? I keep hearing it mentioned and I see Dr. Paul will be there on Monday.

Seems like he should be in Florida and Maine full time. ( isn't Louisiana after super tuesday)

Louisiana has the potential to be a decent place for RP. Not a first place contender, but respectable.

In the alternates race in district 5, we have 15 ron paul alternate delegates on the ballot out of a total of 19 alternates.
Which means.. worse case scenario, we walk away with 11 Alternates in our district. 11 votes at the state convention.

We've already won 7 alternates in district 2, won unopposed.

We've already won 15 alternates in district 3. won unopposed.

We've already won 13 alternates in district 4. won unopposed.

For a total of 46 alternates already won before the voting even starts. (out of 95 alternates total) suppose to be 105 but 10 slots will not be filled because no one ran for them

The Louisiana caucus is what counts...
The primary is called the "Presidential Preference Primary". If no candidate gets above 50% in the preference poll... the primary counts for nothing.

21 delegates will be decided January 22.
20 Delegates will be voted on in convention at the end of february.
3 are super delegates and are assigned to top party officials.

cool - I actually thought it was on February 9th! I hope everyone else does as we'll --- except people that care about the future of their kids ;)

Sorry for the bad post.

Sorry for the bad post.

Turn out is low because people here think this is a primary state. no one knows they need to vote tuesday. the papers haven't even reported on it.

the state GOP does that on purpose...You can try to tell someone their vote on Feb. 9 doesn't count, but they don't believe you.

What does alternate delegates mean ?

and when you say unopposed does that mean we win the delegates even if we lose the state ?

95 State Alternates will decide on the 41 National Alternate Delegates.
An Alternate is used when a delegate is no longer available.

When I say unopposed I mean:
There are 15 slots to fill. No more than 15 people run. No election is needed . Delegates win unopposed.

We are organized..more so than any other campaign. We were the only campaign to fill all their delegate slates.

way to go!

So, we're beating them (the GOP standard-bearers) at their own game I take it??

Get those 20 extra delegates!! Don't let anyone get the majority in the primary.
