CNN reports Giuliani as having gotten a delegate from Maine already, which isn't supposed to vote until February 2nd.

Can someone more knowledgeable about this process clue me in on how that works?

Probably just a typo.

Hmm.. It looks like Huckabee already has 3 delegates from Arkansas, even though they haven't voted yet either: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/candidates/#1187

I see that both Giuliani's Maine delegate and Huckabee's Arkansas delegates are in the "Unpledged" column. What does that mean? Who are these unpledged delegates, and how do they get pledged to a candidate early?

They're the kind of delegates that are automatic delegates to the national convention; usually statewide committeeman / committeewoman; in some states, the GOP allows congressmen to be automatic delegates (they are allowed to declare their support for a candidate, although they are not "pledged").

The Democrats call them "superdelegates."

Huh... It looks like Romney also already has 1 delegate from Illinois, 2 from Indiana, 1 from Maine, and 2 from Minnesota! http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/candidates/#893 Who are these delegates?????
