View Full Version : Looks like Fred it out... who's next?

Exit polls and comments made by Thompson suggest he's out after SC.

In my dream scenario, McCain loses badly tonight in SC, loses in FL, and fizzles out on Super Tuesday. He doesn't even have money to run ads for Feb 5th.

If Rudy loses FL, he will also be deflated and might get slaughtered on Feb 5.

This would leave only Mitt, Huckleberry Hound, Rudy and RP. :)

Huck could also be damaged if he does not do well in SC and FL.

Fred beat Huckabee in Nevada.. hope this helps him stay in the race.

We need Fred OUT! People like him because he's the "only" small government candidate. When he's gone, they'll find Ron Paul.

We might actually get some of the Fred vote, since he has marketed himself as the "constitutional conservative".

Of course, in the end I think his vote will be split among all of the candidates.

Maybe the NYT can finally put Ron on their election guide!? Doubt it. It looks even more ridiculous that they don't have him on there now.

Yes if Thompson drops thats a huge gain for Paul IMHO.

So that would leave only RP, Ghoul, Mitt, McCain and Huckleberry in the debate this week.

Paul and Thompson agree on quite a few things ... except Foreign Policy. We would get some of the Thompson vote, unquestionably.

If it becomes a scenario where there is not clear cut winner on the republican side. There could be several republicans going to the presidential campaign. This means that Ron Paul concievably could make it to the very end (November 08), which would give us more time to campaign for Ron Paul.

It's possible folks! We still have a chance, but we need to push and push hard!

Ron Paul!

I can see Ron Paul picking up a lot of support from Fred, and Duncan Hunter if he ever gets out, regardless of who they endorse on their exit.

Agreed. Then again, maybe we could pick up a lot of those anti-war McCain voters.

I think this will come down to Romney vs. Paul.

As the field thins out Ron has to show he can beat Billary. When only two or three are left whoever can beat Billary will gain the nomination.

Ron LOL

It's really down to RP, Romney, and Huckadope. I'd love to see a debate with only those three. Ron Paul would win the election right then and there.

Fred leaving the race would help Ron Paul, because they are both small government conservatives... hands down it helps RP.. but Fred is way to proud to endorse anyone.

We have a chance here, if they leave the race, coupled with no clear cut winner in the republican party. Ron Paul conceivably could make it to the end (November). It's been 60 years since something like this has happened, but never the less it is possible!

Fred Thompson? Who's he? :D

Yup. The Ghoul wouldn't be laughing and neither would McCain. So if Romney decided to mock Dr. Paul he would look like the consumate jackass that he has been looking like. And to be honest, Romney will look like a jackass anyway.

I hope you're right. But I used to hope that anti-war Republicans would vote for Paul too.....

I agree, Fred Heads are actually conservative and could move to Ron Paul. We need to make an effort to pick them up.

He has more votes than Billary in Nevada. Paul has 5742 and Billary has 5317

Imagine Mitt and Huck each have about 950 delegates at the convention. Dr. Paul has something like 300. Oh, that would be a really interesting convention, especially after the religious attacks Huck seems to make. I think that would make for some really interesting conversations as we try to convert them to us :).
