View Full Version : Ron Paul Patriots Amaze Me!

I'm pushing 50 years on this earth. I feel like a kid again. Why?
Because I am being shown what happens when truth shatters myth. We all
know that now-a-days no one cares about politics. It's boring, it will
never change, and you can't make a difference. I was buying into that
too. Many years of settling for the lesser of two evils is a cancer. It
grows on you and you don't know how sick you really are. But Ron Paul
volunteers have cheered me, yes even dragged me out of bed. Thanks.

Not
even a week has passed since our Mega March to get the Ron Paul Message
Out. 45 people hit the streets. Read my earlier post for details. So I
was thinking, 'Rest up.' But a couple of our more youthful patriots
said, 'Let's go after more voters.' I lamely put out a small invitation
for us to go to the Orlando Promise Keepers event. I knew there were
going to be lots of people. But still you kind of worry about over
taxing supporters.

So I roll down Colonial Dr. and look for
parking. No such luck. Finally turn off a side street and walk a couple
blocks to the arena. I've grabbed a five inch stack of brochures and
think this should be plenty. I'm the only one there cause I'm early.
Start working the crowds. "Ron Paul, Christian running for President.
Check him out." I a lot of people don't care. Still a good percentage
take one. I get braver. Talk to more people. Pretty soon more
volunteers show. Slim Jim brochures are almost gone. I run back to the
car. Take another large stack and disperse them to the volunteers.

We're really organized now. We have people stationed at most of the heavy pedestrian
traffic areas. Remember this is a pay event at the arena. But much to
my amazement, we are well received and I have to go back and scour the
car for all remaining brochures.

For just a moment I shake my
head. What the heck are we doing? Who do we think we are? The media
says RP can't win. But my eyes tell me different. These are real people
handing out flyers
to other real people. As one patriot says, 'We are the only ones out
here doing it!' I yell out, 'Ron Paul is going to win this going away!'
We both wink and say, Yeah, man.'

And that feeling of child-like
hope really springs up deep. We can do it. Hopelessly out numbered and
out spent by supposed front runners, we press on. And I don't doubt for
a moment that I'm working with the best people. For a cause that I will
never, ever forget. The truth is giving me an energy boost that coffee
can't even touch. The myth was that I started to doubt what can happen.
Working together we will show where the real power is. We'll dispel the myth
that money trumps people. And we will once again have a healthy
country.

My
prescription: Check the Orlando Ron Paul calender daily for a dose of
good old fashioned People Power. Repeat until cynicism and
disillusionment symptoms disappear.

I enjoyed reading this a lot too. Here in Tallahassee we did our first Ron Paul sign waving at the Capital. Will there be any events going on in Orlando in conjunction with the debate?

You bet your... we'll be doing something big for the Sunday October 21st debate. I'm talking REALLY big. I'm talking the Woodstock of politics. I want every last RP patriot to hitch his or her pony to this star studded event. Details as always to follow.
