View Full Version : What we can do without pissing off people

I posted this in Grassroots thread and someone suggested I start a new thread with it, so here goes. If someone wants to help us start gathering Nevada media names/emails/phones, that'd be awesome -- hopefully someone in Nevada :)

If you don't know what this is about, check these out:

Campaign Press Release: Nevada GOP Caucus in Chaos (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/press-releases/143/nevada-gop-caucus-in-chaos)

KOLO8 News Article: Nevada GOP Caucus In Chaos (http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/13891802.html)
KOLO8 News Article: Ron Paul Campaign Concerned About Incorrect Caucus Location Information Provided by the Nevada State Republican Party (http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/13861937.html)

It appears that some people don't realize that these events will be the end of Ron having any chance in Nevada tomorrow.

While we sit here and debate and wait for the campaign to tell us what to do (which, as I understand, they're legally not really allowed to do), in a few hours, it will be too late.

What we should be doing is calling and emailing ALL of the local Nevada TV and radio stations, along with the national news media and telling them about this issue WITHOUT mentioning Ron Paul's name in a concerted effort to use the media to raise awareness.

We need to make it sound like this is a huge issue for all the republican candidates so that it might gain some real media coverage.

Only with this documented before hand will we be able to gain sympathy for when we try to address the issues that will undoubtably happen during the caucus.

We should also be trying to get volunteers to go to any old locations to make sure people are directed to the right location as a backup.

If you don't think this will hurt Ron's turnout more than the other candidates, you are naive. This type of things has been used numerous times to affect the voting process. It happened in Florida in at least one election, probably more and I've heard about it occurring in other states as well.

If Romney, Huck and McCain bus people in early while Ron's campaign is left to rely on people having to figure out where to go and what the rules are -- who do you think is going to feel the effects most?

The way to turn this to our advantage is to make sure we have transportation at all the incorrect polling locations, man them much better than anyone else and we will gain from this BS.

Yea, supporters who are in NV:

IF you end up at the wrong location, IMMEDIATELY set up an operation to attract Ron Paul supporters who show up and give them a quick / easy way to get to the REAL location.

And of course, make sure you get to the real location yourself and vote :)

(but don't leave the other location unmanned until the precinct closes... don't over-man it either: just one or two people in Ron Paul shirts is enough to redirect the lost voters... the rest should be getting as close to the voting booths with signs and flyers as local law allows.)

And if you know ANYONE in NV, get the word out on how to capitalize on the misdirection from the GOP!
