I think they finally removed the lies but read the comments...

Is this how they welcome guest to their campus? I'd tar and feather the author for lack of social graces.

I googled the exact phrase, but didn't find this article anywhere else. I hope that no one else picks up this false information.

I'm an alumnus and frankly ashamed that this article was ever published. Is there an editor in the house? Hello? :(

What kind of "reporter" publishes comments from someone who uses phrases like "over-educated idiot"? Bias much? Where the hell did she find this bozo? I bet he's her boyfriend...

"I think his ideas look good on paper, but if they were actually implemented, they wouldn't work very well - kind of like communism," Kekich said.
Are you F*cking kidding me? Someon fails at life.

I just flamed the idiot. He has no clue about the oil leases and monies generated by the federal government off the coast of Louisiana. I told the idiot if Louisiana got the money revenues from the gulf of mexico it could pay fr any natural disaster. What I think is sad is most states get 10 miles for mineral rights off the coast but louisiana gets 3 miles and its because of the oil leases. Also Louisiana could tax all the natural gas and gas comining out of the refineries and the rest of the country would have to pay that tax. Hey if we have to smell it then they should have to pay it. I like the idea of states rights because Texas, Louisiana, & Alaska would make out like gold because we could tax the oil and gas and that would force the other states to develope their energy infrastructure.
Oh btw I do work in the Gulf of Mexico as a offshore surveyor so I do know a little about the MMS and the oil field.

I too am an alumnus and I sent an email to the editor. He sent me a courteous email apologizing for the article's bias and for the poor job the editing staff did.
