This is making people hostile towards our cause and literally accomplishes nothing. The primary voting demographic (old people) do not use dig or see these meaningless online polls. The do however, like visits from nice young people willing to teach them about Dr. Paul and why to vote for him.

Also, no matter how much all of this is economic crisis is because of the baby boomer generation, try not to tell them that.

Lets not help them to make money as indicated here (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/01/17/online_obama_starts_to_beat_ro_1.html).
Unless you have something more meaningful to do.

It just takes a min but leaves a trail of effect.

That article is about online fundraising. The OP is talking about polls and Digg. I agree that we have run our course with both of those and now is the time to go outside and talk to people.

Hello, Mr. 17 posts.

Thats really irrelevant.

He is right, it just gives people ammo against us saying that we're manipulating the info out there.

We can just post the article and people will digg it. It doesnt have to be labeled "DIGG This". This is especially true when people post to bury an article on Digg. Individualism, not collectivism is what Ron Paul is about, and us using our power to control the internet media is not what we should be about.

That seems to be what we are fighting against, and shouldn't be promoting it.

RedCard had this excellent post about digg:

Look, the digg algorithim is fine-tuned against people voting en masse. What you do when you have "DIGG THIS" on this board, and everyone races over to digg Ron Paul stories, is normalize the standard of Ron Paul stories.

So.. basically, when the same group of people dig the same stories, their diggs count for less and less on the whole. Likewise, when people bury a story based on keywords, if the same people bury stories, their buries are less and less effective.

In short, what you guys have done is cheapen the value of the Ron Paul story. There are so many Ron Paul stories that the Digg algorithim has corrected to deal with the "RP Flood" coming over. Your votes are all lesser in value because of your past voting histories.

Therefore, it takes FAR fewer buries , and even in some cases depending on who voted the story up.. just one , to bury a story.

The answer is, stop digging only Ron Paul stories. Digg other stories. Bury other stories. Don't bury in just a category and don't digg in just a category. Be a broad user of the site, and not narrowly focused on Ron Paul.. and you'll find that you can digg or bury stories and have your vote count MORE.

I am always suspicious when a newly joined, low post count member comes on and gets preachy.

There is a legitimate point here. Remember the gold standard? Printing enough money that dollars outnumber tree leaves makes dollars worthless, right? Think about it...

Excuse me! This is not our fault. It is the fault of the US Govt. and dates back to 1913. I'm sick of all you guys trying to pin it on us!

You do have a point. As a late Kennedy baby (one of the first of Gen X) I grew up in your shadows. You must admit that y'all make a mighty big target! That said, I heartily agree that y'all are too damn big to piss off, too.
