View Full Version : Diebold wins the recount

The sensitive memory cards containing the programming and tabulation from the Diebold optical-scanners are apparently "missing in action" for the moment. Those cards, as viewers of HBO's Hacking Democracy know by now, may be used to hack an election, such that only a proper hand-count of the paper ballots afterwards will reveal the hack. (See the video of that hack for yourself right here. The same exact machine being hacked in that film was used across the state to count 80% of the ballots in NH in last week's primary.) And yet, says Bonifaz who spent time today speaking with New Hampshire Secretary of State, Assistant Secretary of State and Deputy Attorney General, nobody seems to have any idea where those cards are and what has become of them. He says he was told by Secretary of State William Gardner that his office doesn't get involved in tracking what happens to those memory cards.

yeah, democracy in action, gotta love it.

saw it coming...let's face it, more likely than not we had A LOT more support in these primaries than was reported. I wonder where all the trolls are now to shut up about the fraud. I wonder where they will be when one banana costs $56.34. Either which way we cut it, we will head into an economic collapse.

Diebold - When You Absolutely, Positively Got To Steal Every Vote From The Guy Who's Beating You, Accept No Substitutes!

Um... in the rare event that all the Diebold machines at a particular polling location become inoperable due to many cups of coffee being accidently poured on them... what is an election official to do? Do they have backup machines on site? Or do they give you a paper ballot instead?

Do these cards have difficult-to-forge serial numbers?

hmmm and then there are states that don't have any paper ballots what so ever which you know are most likely hacked

Even if the memory cards do not turn up, if there are obvious discrepancies in areas that were counted by machine (which there are), then that should be enough to call for a ban on DieBold equipment.

Gold, and ammo... two good investments.

When the people who control the money are the ones who own the gold it's not a good investment. Ammo on the other hand... :D

Think how simple a fair election would be:

• simple easy fair paper ballots with security feature involving a tear-off stub w/ unique serial number and your signature halfway on each piece. In other words you sign on the perforation, then tear-off and keep your stub w/ the bottom half of your signature. Put your stub together with your ballot and the two parts of your signature match up... with an additional hand-written unique "ident-phrase" chosen by the voter. Full accounting of the total number of blanks and the range of unique serial numbers is made public before the election by the election supervisor.

• the ballots are checked for any problems, then dropped into a large clear plastic ballot box - the supervisor of elections is the one and only individual allowed by law to open this box. The box is always in full view of the public - before, during and after the voting. No bullsh*t "chain-of-custody" scam because the ballots never GO ANYWHERE! The People count the votes immediately following the election together - with anyone allowed to watch. Two representative of each candidate are allowed to participate in the actual counting with the election supervisor in charge following pre-determined and infallible procedure w/ multiple redundant checks. The results are visible during the process to all. The final results are public knowledge immediately. No electronic ANYTHING.

• exit polling should be done by a public organization. All reporting of results should be held until all polls are closed. The MainSleaze Media need harsh new regulation regarding fairness of election coverage, and should no longer be allowed to characterize any candidate as "major", "top tier", "leading", "fringe", "longshot", etc etc etc

Ron Paul should have taken all the money, put it in gold and then when the economy collapses he'll have so much money to win the 2012 election that no one would even contest it.

I was wondering if the missing primary's memory cards could turn up in November with interesting general-election results.

Is that possible?

The people who print the money are NOT the ones who own the gold. There are a few metal trusts set up centuries back for the benefit of humanity that stewards of have most of the gold.. Well except for half the gold on the planet which belongs to women.

Gold isn't "up", the dollar is down, wait till it hits the grocery store.

Diebold produce Automatic Teller Machines, in another line of their business. Has anybody ever been short-changed from such a machine?

If they can count money with 99.9999999999999999% accuracy, why can't they count votes to the same degree?

It already is hitting the grocery store. $1.75 for a 2-liter of Coca Cola and $4 for a gallon of milk are just two examples.
