View Full Version : Media: Is Ron Paul’s Fundraising Drying Up?

The question is, what’s happening with the fundraising. Have people stopped giving ? Have they maxed out on the FEC limits ? I’ve got to think that the campaign’s poor showing in the last four primaries/caucuses has something to do with it. Truth be told, people get discouraged.

That’s right —- they’d need to raise as much as they did in three months in four weeks.

Right now, it doesn’t seem to be going well.

The tally on the campaign’s homepage shows less than $ 900,000 raised through today, with only 14 days to go. And one site that’s tallying the “road to $ 23 million” shows them to be at least $ 21 million short.

This author needs to be REMINDED that there's a moneybomb coming is a few days. People wait to donate at the moneybombs. I do.

I plan on making my largest donation of the campaign on the 21st, and have lined up 5 people to donate a $100 each in addition to my $500 donation....i really can't afford this, but we need a new record on the 21st....if we want to win this....

I implore everyone....dig down and do everything you can....we need this to be big.

I'm digging deep to make this a success, I hope you are too.....

My wife and I will be donating, and probably more than we've donated in the previous moneybombs.

I plan on making my largest donation of the campaign on the 21st

Same here. This is crunch time. Super Tuesday's right around the corner. So on Monday, we need to all come out swinging like Tyson in the 1st (read:donate as much as possible).

Seriously guys, this is it: The primaries we've had so far don't mean anything, but Super Tuesday will make or break Ron Paul's candidacy. We have to give him everything we can this time if we want to see him as President! He CAN win this - it all hinges on the Super Tuesday advertising blitz.

I think most people miss this, although the media is already trying to lessen its importance by saying we might win it.

This media black-out is one way only. Just because they are not talking about us, doesn't mean they are not watching. They are watching...VERY closely.

Hey guys, when you post "MLK Day" on a blog... make sure you also state that it's the 21st January.

To someone who doesn't already know, "MLK Day" doesn't mean very much. Give the actual date also!

It wouldn't hurt to mention it's "this Monday" either, of course ;)

People we need to max out 1-21-08 if it wont be bigger then the last 6mill we wont get any coverage in the media and wont put a dent in the other candidates! We need to put up or SHUT UP!

Don't forget this time RP publicly asked us to donate on MLK day!

You know, if we do well on the 21st it will send a huge message considering our lackluster showing in the early primaries. I am very happy about the solid numbers that Paul has attracted, but we need more to win the nomination, and I think another big moneybomb in spite of our slow start will send a huge message. I really hope many voters in Nevada have been won over by Paul's message. A win in Nevada would be beyond amazing. I'm so excited. Ron Paul for President! For the welfare of our nation.

We will find out of the race baiters won on MLK day. If their smears drove enough Ron Paul supporters away to drive the campaign into the ground.

On a separate note, I wish the campaign would take matching funds. If they can take funds from stormfront, why not from the federal government?

Plus, with all the crap my taxes pay for, this campaign would be worthwhile.

That's ok. Just make sure you tell 50 other people about Ron Paul in the real world, and that will make up for it. :D

You don't have to donate money, donating your time is just as important. Write a letter to the editor (that has advertising value), call into local talk radio shows and discuss Ron Paul, post to forums online and get the message out--none of these things cost money but can have a HUGE impact.

See my Squidoo Lens for more free ideas to support Ron Paul

http://www.squidoo.com/Bum-Political-Marketing

The other day several members of my local meetup group called into our local talk radio program, we got Ron Paul about an hour of free radio advertising. THIS WORKS!

Our local TV news organization has a website with a community forum. We have several threads running that mention Ron Paul and his stance on that particular issue. Many people are reading the posts, the message is getting out, and it isn't costing us anything but time and a little energy.

EVERYONE can help Ron Paul, no money needed. :)

I'm thinking about biting the bullet, using a credit card and maxing out.

It needs to be really big, and we don't have the kind of support for it that we've had for the other money bombs.

Besides, that's what they're asking for, to help the economy. Spend some money, guys. :P

I for one have not done much for this campaign other then vote, sign up as a delegate, talk to a few friends, put up a bumper sticker, a yard sign and 3 window signs on my house so the least i can do for RP and all the people who have done so much on the streets the least i can do is donate this time more then i did last time. I'm broke myself but i will be even more broke if RP looses :(

Big wins today will prompt a big pay day for Ron Paul on MLK Day. We doesn't believe in welfare.. so he has to EARN his donations. No welfare for Dr. Paul.

Is the max allowed per quarter or is it the entire length of the campaign?
