View Full Version : Is There Any Good Reason to Turn on the News These Days?

Ok, it's like Chinese water torture, same boring stuff different day. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. Who said what about whom, this one said that, Obama, Hillary, Romney, and McCain, over and over and over again. The mainstream media has officially winnowed the field for us. I can't watch it anymore, if I do I'll wind up putting a bullet in my head.

I'm not going to turn on the TV anymore. Could someone just give me a heads up if the good doctor is going to be on?

Lol... no surprise

Have to hear what they are saying or not saying to know how to defeat their ideas!

They shouldn't call it "News". They should call it "Gossip."

I can hear it now:

"Up next on Fox Gossip, Rupert Murdoch has a crush on Britanny Spears. More at Eleven"

He hasn't been on in quite a while. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a heads up.

when i talk to my friends they look at me like i am weird. there like "man someone needs to watch fox news" then i say "man someone needs to get more sources of info" it's amazing how brainwashing television is. the internet is now the truth.

The only thing worth watching now is Lou Dobbs. What's Dobbs's problem with Dr. Paul, why won't he give the good doctor more consideration.

No As Far As I Am Concerned We Should Do A News Blackout And Cause Faux To Lose Billions More... Until They Start Playing The Game Straight

No cable here and hardly turn on the TV. Just rent movies and watch the occasional show. PBS mostly I guess.

When I go out of town for work, sometimes I room with a guy. I can hardly take when the cable tv is turned on. Flip, flip, flip, junk, junk, junk, all night.

For news I just surf the net, complile all of the info and try to sort out what is genuine and what isn't. Maybe I'll add some of the national "news" in from the night or weekends, but not often.

This may sound "extreme" but I actually think TV is bad for our nation. At least how it is currently used. The "news" is propaganda largely. Many kids & adults get thier heads filled with mush and socialization. It prohibits any real learning or thinking with rare exception. Many kids grow up not reading or having much imagination because of dependence on TV.

2 minor benefits that I can see:

1. It can give one a sense of superiority to realize how much smarter we are than the eggspurts.;)
2. Gotta keep an eye on the propoganda being spread in order to combat it.

Funny you should say that. I watch CNBC with the sound turned all the way down for the numbers only. I just like to watch the wealth destruction in real time.
