Just curious, how many people are being converted to Ron Paul's constitutionalist platform and what their prior political "affiliation" was.

I was unaffiliated in NC which means I could vote for either. I usually voted Democratic or even green party.

You should add a slot for "Libertarian" as Paul has attracted a fair number of Libertarians, including myself.

Yea, I guess I should have added a slot for libertarian, but too late now, can't edit poll, won't let me. I think libertarianism is very close to the constitutionalist platform which is supposed to be what the republican platform stands for.

I chose Independent. I joined the Libertarian Party in January of 2007. Before that I was a Republican.

I switched from Dem to Rep when Reagan ran for office.

My plans were to switch from Rep to Ind in 07 until I found out Ron Paul was running on the Republican tkt. I moved, so when I registered, I registered as a
"Ron Paul Republican"

Seems most republicans, followed by independents. He is not breaking through to the dems so well, in number.

I was someone who hated Bush and the neocons, didn't care about the democrats, and didn't acknowledge third parties.

Registered Republican in 2004 only to vote. I could care less for most of their views but in no way could I vote for a democrat. I mostly as in 80% of the time vote 3rd party when given the chance.

I switched from R to L after RP lost the nomination last time. I'm R now, but will be switching to I after the primaries. Parties are stupid. :p

I was technically Unaffiliated, but for all intents and purposes, I might as well have bee a Democrat. I bought "social justice" and wealth redistribution hook, line, and sinker.

I've always voted Libertarian.. But I registered Republican in 2007 to become more involved locally for Dr. Paul.. Philosophically, always been a Libertarian and always will be.

Same here. I knew I was against the wars, and I assumed everything else in the Democratic platform was "right," including gun control, wealth redistribution, and everything else. I started to ask questions a few years ago regarding the inefficiency of government and why it couldn't just pass a law to fully employ everyone and create equality. One answer led me to another, and I realized libertarianism suited me much more than being a Democrat. Never turned back.

i actually voted libertarian when I turned 18. then i decided that my vote was just being thrown away on 3rd parties and registered as a democrat when i moved to ohio when i was 21. a few years ago i sent in a new registration form to register as an independent, but received a notification that i was still registered as a democrat and haven't tried to make any changes since it doesn't matter in my state. i don't want to be a republican either.

of course! we have open primaries. i realize that RP is a republican and more so than any of the others. if he is not the nominee there will very little for me to support as i don't trust the other candidates.
