Martha Escher was sure she'd received some bogus information when a postcard from the Nevada Republican Party arrived at her Reno home telling her to caucus at a precinct that didn't make sense.
She called the number listed on the card to express her frustration.
"I asked him if they had a Democrat working (for them), and he didn't think it was too funny," she said.
Escher wasn't alone. Thousands of potential Republican caucus-goers received postcards with incorrect information.
Heidi Smith, chairwoman of the Washoe County Republican Central Committee, said "a computer glitch" is to blame.
"The postcards came out of Las Vegas," she said. "Somehow, the computer got a glitch, and it took precincts and randomly assigned them."
Voters in Incline Village, for example, were instructed to caucus in Gerlach.
Smith said the new Reno cards with the correct information have been sent out. She also urged voters to check the state or Washoe County GOP Web sites, or to call if they have questions about where they should caucus.
"The people that printed them have reprinted them, and they've sent them out," Smith said. "It's one of those things that happens."
