Ron Paul will make one hell of a race out of this, he's swimming in money, Mitt has spent $63M without much to show for it, McCain is sucking wind, and Thompson & Rudy will bail after super tuesday.

We'll see just how far they can go, won't we?

Financially, it comes down to Paul & Romney.

Don't forget about the "free" press candidates get on the MSM. That'll cost'em nothing! -Tyler

Don't forget that those numbers are just from Q3. We'll see where everyone stands at the end of the month when Q4 numbers are posted (which includes the 20 million we raised)

Won't the other candidates take matching funds from the government?

That's what I was thinking. If Ron doesn't take it, that will put them all back up with Dr. paul

And this makes for a great hit piece by RP if he wants it. :D

I wouldn't count Huckabee out -- if he pulls off a good showing on Super Tuesday, the religious right will be energized. They are an immensely wealthy, and generous, demographic when it comes to funding political campaigns.

However, I think this might be good for us -- Romney and Huckabee are not good friends, and they wedge each other apart, especially on issues where Ron Paul is strong.

only McCain took matching funds; $5.8 million dollars.

He now has to abide by spending caps or give the money back. If his campaign drags out several months, that could be a big problem.

PS - tancedo got matching funds as well.

McCain DIDNOT take matching funds. He took out a loan, using campaign assest, such as his donor list and future fundraising as collateral. (a bit fishy)

Anyway, we need to not let ourselves get complacent about how much money we have. RP will and does need MILLIONS more. We should all give as much as we can, money early will be worth more than later (heh-in more ways than one)
