Ever get that feeling that "WE" are being pushed to the "BACK OF THE BUS" by the "MAIN STREAM MEDIA" ???

Ron Paul has mentioned that Rosa Parks is a inspiration.... how can we honor her ? Birthday is in less than 2 weeks.

A few words from wikipedia:

"Rosa Parks (February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005) was an African American civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress later called "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement". On December 1, 1955, Parks became famous for refusing to obey bus driver James Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger. This action of civil disobedience started the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which is one of the largest movements against racial segregation. In addition, this launched Martin Luther King, Jr., who was involved with the boycott, to prominence in the civil rights movement. She has had a lasting legacy worldwide."

Please post your feelings about a Rosa Parks fund raiser. Can a large fundraiser also be tagged as a protest event against Fox News and how they continue to push us off the public airways. Public Airways = Public Transportation... GET IT !!!

Peace and Joy,
Ramblin Randy

He voted against giving her a medal because he didn't want taxpayer money to fund it.

Ron Paul voted NO against giving Rosa Parks a medal because the money for the medal was to be used from the taxpayers. INSTEAD, he insisted of everyone in congress pitching in $100 for the model. Of course no one wanted to, because $100 is too much for them

How about a mini-bomb to pay for that medal, since Congress was TOO CHEAP to do it.

In a way the "establishment" keeps pushing Ron Paul and his views to the back of the bus. Say media blackout a few times more, and still you will find you have not advanced the cause of our era.

Congress voted to buy it with tax payer money.

Paul was the only one who pulled a $100 bill out of his own pocket to pay for it and gave a short speech on why she deserved it from them.

Did she get the Congressional Medal of Honor or not? I'm not really sure.

If she didn't, this would be very appropriate for us to have a mini-money bomb to give her family one in her honor.

Civil disobedience, such as that of Rosa, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mohandas Ghandi and that soldier who recently posted his video on YouTube are things we should make sure are associated with our campaign as it is the best response to this war.

When Congress voted to give Rosa Parks the Congressional Gold Medal, there was only one voice of dissent. Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) has voted against giving the Congressional Gold Medal to Rosa Parks, Mother Theresa and the Pope. Many people, given only this snippet of information have concluded that Congressman Paul is a bigot, a racist and just plain intolerant. Yet he raises an interesting additional argument.

The Congressional Gold Medal is made of solid gold, and in every instance it is awarded, it can cost taxpayers upwards of $30,000. This money not only pays for the gold to make the medal, but also the mold that needs to be specially created since each medal is tailored to its recipient. Congressman Paul voted against awarding this medal over and over because he does not think it is a good use of taxpayer dollars.

However, Paul has not just voted against spending taxpayer money for the medal - he has proposed a workable alternative. Instead of shelling out $30,000 of taxpayers' money, Paul proposed that each member of Congress ought to pay $100 out of his or her own pocket. This way, the money for the medal would be raised and each member of Congress would be contributing to the cause that he or she values so much. He also stressed his respect for Parks, saying that she was a courageous woman who committed herself to the cause of freedom and against an overbearing government that is unanswerable to the people it serves. Spending $30,000 of taxpayer money on frivolous medals, Paul believes, is an act of an overbearing government that is not in touch with its people.
