When someone comes to the forum wanting to raise funds for any campaign project, nearly every forum member shouts "Start a Chipin"! So, off the fundraiser goes without any information as to the ramifications.
As shown by many posts on the forum, a large number of people have no idea that Chipins operate through PayPal. When large amounts of money begin to flow into a PayPal account, it apparently triggers red flags which may result in the account being frozen -- case in point NH Recount fiasco.
So, if your project requires considerable money, it is imperative that you have a backup plan to deal with possible delays from using PayPal, OR find an alternative funding method so as to avoid Chipin or PayPal altogether.
