Paul's numbers could increase dramatically if the campaign were to focus more on the issue of online poker and freedom to bet over the Internet. Las Vegas casinos have been itching to get into the lucrative online gambling sector but can't due to recently past prohibition that Paul refused to vote for. Nevada also has the largest concentration of gamblers in the United States.

I don't think online gambling is a big issue here in NV. I imagine most people like the idea that they have to come to the state and spend money here.

Yucca mountain would seem like a better chance for us to break from the pack.

you think people that gamble in Vegas aren't likely to gamble online? That seems counterintuitive to me..

Yes, that's Howard. And the guy to his left seems to be Andy Bloch.

I think it IS a big issue. People are playing online poker anyway but because of the ridiculous laws they are playing on online platforms that are not based in the US (so the US gambling industry is not allowed to compete).

And think of all the poker players that are visiting Las Vegas. Just inform them that Ron Paul is the only candidate who would legalize online poker in the US again - they will LOVE him! (I guess 90% of the people that play in the casinos play online poker as well).

Even though they have 24-hour poker rooms in Vegas players like to play from the comfort of their home. Online gambling is a huge market and there are tons of online poker players all over the country. All the poker personalities also have or endorse online gambling sites so that is a major incentive for them to vote for Ron Paul.

We kinda like the fact all of the Californians have to drive over here to gamble (altho they've got their Indian casinos now). All those tourists pay our taxes for us.

The internet gambling thing isn't that big of a deal. If you want to play some poker, it's only a couple minutes drive to get to a live game.

Some players care. But since they've got a live game they don't care as much as someone who can't play at all. And most of 'em are younger and probably not Republican, and if they are Republican turning them out might be a bitch.

I do play a little bit of poker, and I've discussed this with other players.

I prefer Yucca Mtn. That effects EVERYONE in NV.

Just MHO.
