The Christians living in Church Basements:

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#MIREP

Seriously, though - I've met more Christians, and the most devout Christians I've ever met in my life through organizing for Ron Paul.

Why are we so weak with this constituency. If part of our role in this campaign is education, how can we educate evangelicals better on Ron Paul, the Constitution, limited government, Federalism, Christian just war theory, Federal Reserve & usury.

Just check out this video:

You will not convert the "Christians in Church Basements."

If their church tells them Huckabee is the right man, that's who they'll vote for.

period.

If you can't get most Christians to actually read their bible, you're not going to get them to think about these things either. They'll just do what James Dobson says.

If their Church tells them to vote for Huckabee, then that church can lose it's tax-exempt status.

Can we get that video and some Ron Paul material into the hands of church leaders - not necessarily preachers, but the "leadership"?

Especially if you intend to so blithely write off that demographic as unreachable.

Elections are won by building a bigger tent. Find out what their concerns are then answer what RP's positions are on the subject (if it's what they want to hear). I bet you a great many of these people are willing to vote Paul if the message was brought to them by someone who actually thought them worth canvassing.

This is sad but true. My grandparents and uncle were all set to vote for Ron Paul. They agreed with him on almost everything and then Christian TV "annointed" Huck. They turned their back on everything they stand for because Huck is the "Christian candidate". Even more strange, they have kind of disowned me because I am such a vocal Ron Paul supporter. So much for Christian love.

Sounds kind of like a cult.

I'm not joking.

No, seriously, I'm not!

Thanks for the link, my whole family is Southern Baptist and my dad has great respect for Chuck Baldwin.. This piece should do the trick. Like many Christians, they are blinded by Huckabee, I am fortunate to say that after seeing the "Stop Dreaming" Video a long time ago on Youtube, it has opened my eyes.

I am working very hard to convert my parents, and have already convinced at least five people to vote for Ron Paul in my state California. Also, a little encouragement to you all. I have not seen one political sign/banner/ nothing for any candidate EXCEPT (Sorry Hannity, had to use it) for a HUGE banner on a building facing the 10 Freeway (Redlands/San Bernardino Area) going West to Los Angeles. The 10 Freeway here is always jam packed with people, and I mean always.
