View Full Version : Hit the houses in between as well -- RP = CommonSense

Doing Door-to-door with my walklist (actually my "4-wheel-drive-list" cause in winter with the snow drifting on the long farm driveways...) -- anyway ONE of the things that has bugged me (nagged? guilt-tripped? bothered?) is all of the houses I am driving or walking right past because they are NOT in the database.

Sure these people are not "likely voters" -- but they are not illegal immigrants either -- and in MY state, with an OPEN primary and same-day voter registration, virtually EVERYONE, including all of the "apathetic non-voters" actually IS a potential RP supporter (i.e. most of them probably HATE politicians, etc).

But what we need is a DIRT-CHEAP way to reach them, to "whack them upside the head" and "jolt" them out of their apathy if we can -- yet WITHOUT spending too much time on them. I can't spend an an hour or even 5 minutes at each of them trying to argue them out of their apathy... but I *CAN* stop and slip a single sheet of paper into their stormdoor -- especially if it were something I could print or copy locally for may 2 or 3 cents each.

I've given a LOT of thought to this issue, and I think I finally have just such a solution ...so, last night I finished work on a New Website based on a new "Man of Common Sense" theme (which works with '76 Revolution and Constitution concepts AS WELL as in just plain English w/o the historical reference) -- The idea being to generate grassroots tool that... well, see links and stuff below, it's pretty self-explanatory.

http://www.manofcommonsense.com/CommonSense/images/ManOfCS_ALL_R10_P1_170wDS.png The first -- "Did You STOP Voting?" -- is aimed at the classic "apathetic voter" (the houses you are otherwise going right past when you do standard voter-list canvassing). This ad is SPECIFICALLY designed to use a style of advertising that has been VERY successful over the years.

http://www.manofcommonsense.com/CommonSense/images/ManOfCS_ALL_R10_P2_170wDS.png The second -- "Common Sense -- Accountability" -- is a more "general voter" piece. This ad is uses a similar style of advertising to the first. The SOLID BLACK with the statements at the top is the "stunner" and sets the reader up with the fact that Common Sense = Accountability (and plays to the current environment, whether the voter is a Democrat OR a Republican does NOT matter).

Goal of both flyers is to subtly IMPLANT into people's heads VIRTUALLY ALL that "superficial voters" need to know to make them WANT to vote for Ron Paul, THE candidate of COMMON SENSE.

Versions are available with SPECIFIC Primary dates for the upcoming primaries (NV & SC through end of February) -- with a separate "NO DATE" version for use elsewhere.

Note that this is hosted on the same server as my InfiniteRonPaul service... which many of you are already familiar with.

This is a great idea! Precincts have a maximum of about 3000 voters, but the voter lists will only have about 1000 people, so where are the rest? Are all the precincts just under populated? It's because the precinct size is based on the maximum number of *possible* voters if everyone voted, not the number of people that actually vote. About 50% of people never vote and aren't registered to vote. The highest voter turnouts in general elections for president only have about 50% of eligible Americans show up. Primary elections have even less, with about 5-15% turnout.

Those 50% of people in our precincts are eligible to vote but not registered, so it could be as easy as informing them of a non-corrupt person running for president and giving them a voter registration form to get them to turn up to vote.

As Precinct Leaders we should also make it our responsibility to inform our neighbors about the people running for president and important issues, since the "mainstream media" will not. Inform them that Clinton, Giuliani, Huckabee, and Obama are on the JudicialWatch.org (http://www.judicialwatch.org/judicial-watch-announces-list-washington-s-ten-most-wanted-corrupt-politicians-2007) list of the top ten corrupt politicians. Show them which politicians are getting money from lobbyists at OpenSecrets.org (http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/select.asp?cycle=2008). Maybe someone could make a flier with a list of free internet movies (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=64887) for people to watch to educate them on the issues. I've been dropping off some Freedom To Fascism fliers that I had to Democrats in my precinct. In a way, we could become your own local media outlets for our neighbors.

Yeah, as long as the registration date hasn't already passed.

Might want to check that first.

These are REALLY good.

I may download and pass them out whether I become a precinct captain or not...

Thanks for the work!

This is the best idea I've seen. I assume that this is the ad that was used in Iowa where they won the only county for Ron Paul. Putting these in several small newspapers gets a real good response.
We need to organize a strategy among precinct leaders where we all can contribute to advertising in other states, i.e, Florida, Maine and the super Tuesday states. If we try to do this as individuals, it will be unorganized. I'm sure this is the way to victory.

My meetup group is putting ads in papers and to see a copy of some of them so far you can look at: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1367/files/

The River Front Times ad is a 1/4 page ad and the ones for the shoppers are 4" x 4"
