Just heard on Fox....

Someone is sending out mailers in SC..."Viet Nam Veterans Against McCain." It claims that McCain sold out his fellow POWs while in Viet Nam.

Hmm, pretty sneaky. Wonder what would happen if it turns out it was Ron doing the swift boating. Ron does like his mailers. Ron has purportedly also done some pretty eye raising things in his house seat elections. I'm not saying I disapprove, just speculating.

If I had to bet I think it would be Thompson.

Ron's staff know a whole lot better than to leave a trail behind something like this to follow. It wasn't any Ron Paul person in the South Carolina staff though, I know that.

I think Thompson and Mccain are buds. So I guess that would make it even better:p

Jeez, if someone's going to make a site like that, they need to make the domain whois information private.

do some mccain quotes suggest the war-loving mccain might invade vietnam if he is president?

"We never lost a battle in Vietnam. It was American Public Opinion what forced us to lose that conflict"

"Stand up. We're Americans, we're Americans and we'll never surrender, they will."

Oh, I almost forgot one:

Hm... so it looks like he got special treatment, and a whole lot of medals for basically getting caught? I never did like these medal things, if it is true he got 20 hours and easy POW years, cause there were many people who spent years dieing to stay alive who got nothing.

If you actually believe it, you should first read:
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1999-03-25/news/is-john-mccain-a-war-hero/ (http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1999-03-25/news/is-john-mccain-a-war-hero/full)

Then go to the website Vietnam Veterans Against McCain [VVAC] (search for it). The website has connections to (surprize surprize) retired Army Colonel Earl Hopper Sr, at least if you can believe the website. On January 16, VVAC had his phone number posted for contact - but it was gone today - hmmmm! And it only starts during the election process - they quiet down in between. Seems to me they should be using their money to get McCain out of the Senate if they really believed what they are publishing.

I don't think going after Mccain on this issue will yield anything positive for Ron Paul. Let's hit McCain on substantive issues that a lot of people care about - we can't rely on conspiracy theorists being correct, especially ones that are concerned with something over 30 years old. Ron Paul is strong on : economics and freedom. Its more important to fix Veterans Affairs, the economy, and America.

I wonder if Mr Perot is behind this, he started on about it in the first interview in like 19 years.

My Father served in Viet Nam and ended up with a plastic cheek bone courtesy of a sniper and could not walk through a metal detector at an airport because of shrapnel courtesy of a "bouncing betty". That shrapnel left him wheel chair bound later in life and I will not even get into the health problems caused by his exposure to agent orange.

I remember when John McCain first ran for President. My Father about had a meltdown when he found out and it was then that I found out that he despised that man. He never told me exactly why and I figure it was because it would bring back memories he did not care to rehash. After he died I found out that during his last year of service, McCain came to speak to a group at the base he was stayioned at. My Father stood up and turned his back on him and was almost court martialed for it.

I have been hearing about the real "McCain" experience in Nam and how he has turned his back on other POW's and I think I am starting to understand what my Father knew about him all along!

"We never lost a battle in Vietnam. It was American Public Opinion what forced us to lose that conflict"

The strange thing with his statement here is that Mccain is BLAMING AMERICA for the loss.

The other part which is lost on mr mccain is that war strategists work tirelessly to make the other side either believe the war isnt winnable or that there is no longer a reason to fight. Basic stuff. The idea of "winning" a war cant be based on killing every single one of your opponents, that isnt the idea. The idea is to get them to surrender to your will without losing casualties on our side.

I read somewhere that McCain had all his records sealed.
