He used it on one of my local radio hosts. He told him since becoming a father, he's seeing things differently and doesn't want his kids to grow up in what this country is turning into.

Ron should jump his gun and do a press release of the same sort of thing first.

Fred's next move is to take a nap.

After that, his wife will cut up his food for him and it'll be dinnertime.

But I agree with the OP, sentimental family talk like that is like gold to the masses.

I agree that a press release would be good, but Ron is already in the Congressional Record with just such a statement.

Speaking on the House floor on why he gave up his lucrative medical practice to go back to Washington, Ron Paul said:

The average Congressman may go to Washington to wallow in power, and line his pockets with a big lobbying job for a special interest ( so he can keep ripping off the taxpayers ). But that's not why I'm in Congress. It's not why I left my medical practice as a physician. It's not why I put up with all the abuse. It's not why I refuse a plush Congressional pension.

I'm in this fight for a reason. I want to hand on to my children and grandchildren, and to you and your family, a great and free America, an America true to her Constitution, an America worthy of her history.

On the other hand, when Fred Thompson was asked by the Washington Post why he wasn't seeking reelection, but decided to be a Hollywood actor instead, he had this to say:

The hassle factor is up, and the pay is not.

That really says it all.

I kind of liked his last move of reading off a script during the debate in SC.

Actually, this would have made a good ad for South Carolina.

Fred's NEXT move is really not all that important.
Right now, his role (along with Julie) is to keep the
GOP vote as spread out as possible, while the
"media handlers" jockey the election into position.

His LAST move will be to drop out and swing his cache
of supporters to either Hick, Rommel, or Brother 'Cain,
depending on who has the statistical advantage.

Julie Annie will follow suit. Either swinging support behind
the #1 GOP spot or the #2 for backup.

The "Powers That Be" know just how to stack the deck.

They plan to create a presidential race where, no matter the
outcome, they are in the driver's seat.

They'll take any Rom/Cain/Hick, vs Clinton election,
but they are betting, after two terms of hated Republican Party
F**k ups, the voting public will deliver them their "Golden Calf"
by going "left" in retaliation.
On the Dem side Obama is a ruse, Edwards is the spoiler.

Ron Paul is the Wild Card.
They just haven't figured out how to silence the cry of Liberty yet.

If Ron Paul doesn't pick up fallout supporters from Thompson, Julie,
Edwards and/or Obama, or any combination of 2 or 3,
we're potentially looking at the first female President of the USS/NAU.*
If by chance it goes "Right", they've got it covered there with
the same agenda under a different puppet.

One way we go at the end of a rifle butt, the other way we get led with
a trail of home baked cookies. Still, we go.............

*USS/NAU (United Socialists States of the North American Union)

Believe it or not, RP needs to divert the most support from the Dems.
