1. Don't pay for anything with a credit card unless you absolutely have to. Instead, take as much cash as you can out of the ATM and don't give the card companies and banks the vig* that they are after.
2. Before you spend the cash, stamp it with an RP stamp. Even if you don't spend it, take it out of the ATM, stamp it, and then put it back in the bank later. Go inside the bank to make the deposit and explain to the teller exactly why you are doing it. Give them your best 30 second Fed speech and hand them a card or slimjim before leaving. Most tellers are very interested to hear this info, and before you know it they will be spreading the word around to their colleagues.
3. If you MUST shop online, try to use electronic checks instead of credit card.
4. Most banks offer customized credit cards nowadays, so get a customized card with an RP logo on it.
