Nice boost in the meetup groups today:
Ron Paul Meetups Map (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/about/)
97,440 members with 9,300+ looking for a group.
1526 total groups.
Wow. This thing is spreading.

Anyone else have a problem with the script that loads the meetup map timing out? It takes my computer like 5 minutes to show all 1526!!!!! meetup groups that Ron Paul now has.
Boy I hope more of these folks get off their computers and start canvassing. I'm going to remind all of the ones in Mississippi to do this again tomorrow.

Guess we better call Meetup.com and ask them to disable the interactive map. We're just too massive.

Also, this board has increased by just over 3,000 since I joined the day after the Tea Party.

Although most of the people who signed up in the spring and summer are now "inactive". I was the 6th person to sign up for the FIRST (Pasadena) group, and still active ;)

We need the West to represent.
Come on fellow westerners, we gotta work harder.

You realize that there is a ton of empty space out here don't you? I lived in northern Colorado and now in San Diego and there is a reason that they call it "flyover country". It is because we have to drive 5 hours to get to the next major town. Arizona, Nevada and SoCal are solid from what I can tell.

You're probably right.

That's also an old(ish) map. The current one is more populated.

Its a lot less populated here! I wouldn't be suprised to see several western states go for Ron Paul, or at least have him a strong 2nd.
You're right though we need to work harder, and lets not make the mistake of viewing that map as an indication of active support. Unfortunately out of our meetup group of 250 people, and after my own attempts as organizer to get everyone to do it, we only have 4 people signed up as precinct captains in all of Salt Lake County. 4!!!
You're right, we have to do better!

we need to translate all these meetup members into precinct leaders

I don't trust the meetup member numbers since a lot of people belong to more than one meetup group.

theres also alot of "spies" that are signed up to just monitor the email activity and plans.
i have come across a few members on the sites that are definitely spies.
id bet at least 1000 of these members are spying. no way they can read all teh posts though, my meetup gets like 25 posts per day.

Keep getting signs waves and canvassing done in areas where their are no meetups. Spread the word far and WIDE!!!
