View Full Version : Why RP Jumps right before elections

IMO there are 2 possibilities for why he magically jumps to ~10 percent right before every election.

1. All the national polls are rigged. I don't buy it. Too much consistency. IMO there are many left out because they're calling only republicans, but they're ballpark accurate.

2. All the activity in the last week or so before election.

What I want to see happen is that level of fervor that happens in the last week happening BEFORE the last week. For instance in my state we have nearly a month. If we made out big push starting now that could net 2, 3, 4 times as many voters on election day. Paul convertees tend to go nuts and try to convert everyone they know.

SO what I think we need to do is send out a "Call To Arms" mentioning this little fact to all the meetups. We NEED to get as many people out NOW as we can, while we still have time. If you put in the above fact AND that fact that we had 22K double confirmed voters in Iowa MAYBE it will encourage people to actually get active. If anywhere close to HALF of the people in our 700+ person meetup got active, instead of 50-75 here and there, we would be KILLING right now. Same goes for EVERY OTHER MEETUP.

I'm going to get the leader of our big meetup to send one out ASAP, all of you need to do the same. Maybe I'll post a spiel and we can edit it together as a big happy family so we can all use the same one! In addition to that I feel the national campaign MUST send out a similar letter telling everyone who hasn't to join a meetup in their area and get active. Tell them: "What's harder giving up a few days, or living in a freedomless socialist government for the rest of your life???" IMO the Captain position is too daunting for people, but going with "Hey d00d just show up and like do some stuff, it'll be rad!!!" angle would net many more responses.

Stuff along those lines WOULD jolt some more people into action. Even if it doesn't get ALL, or HALF, or a QUARTER of them out anything would help.

Thoughts? Will anyone post it to their meetup if I(we) write such a message? IMO THIS could win it for us alone IF we can slap enough people in the face and get them on the streets.

Well some of the states jump in activity because people go there from other states. People in NC came down to help us in SC this past week, but did not before. So that makes a difference too.

But I agree meetup group organizers need to send out emails to try to get all the members active because its pathetic when a meetup group has 100 members for example, but only 10 are active and actually making a difference.

Seriously. All these people are coming up with these complex schemes of bringing more people in... How about you work on the people that already ARE in? Face to face campaigning gets things done. If all our members went out and canvassed Seattle would be a Ron Paul town by now.

RP supporters tend to be pretty smart people... However most people are lazy by nature, but if you slap them in the face and say "Hey stupid stop watching TV and save yourself 40 years of living hell by doing something for a few weekends!!!" I think you'll get some responses. Shit even if you get an extra 50 percent over the people who normally show up it's well worth an email. Like I said too this will likely net MANY more responses than the Precinct Captain emails that went around, but it's essentially the same thing... It's just not phrasing it as dauntingly, or putting as much authority on their shoulders. Fuck them becoming a Captain... I can tell people which goddamn block to knock doors on for half this city inside of a morning.

I think the polls are absolutely rigged. I think these pollsters know how to conduct a poll in such a way to achieve a certain result. I doubt the calls are random.

Polls are a primary means of propaganda.

How About Go Out There And Spread The Message Instead Of Bitching And Moaning

It's late at night, and a blizzard outside.

I don't think it is unlikely that they would use their poll numbers to set the codes on the machines.
That way the polls and the results are close, "see there, just like we predicted".

Just speculation, but it makes as much sense as anything else I have heard.
