i was just reading on wiki about the 1996 election and how he had to overcome opposition by newt, bush jr., the NRA (what the...), etc.
it also said that in 1998 he ran against a guy named "Sneary" and ran ads that said "Be Leery Of Sneary".
so it sounds like he has a history of being a pretty tough campaigner. does anyone else have anything to share about methods paul has used in the past and what they might imply for the present election?

i know what you mean. it is pretty popular on this board to rant about how badly HQ has handled everything. i have trouble believing that they could be THIS inept. there has to be something up their sleeves. we also need to remember that even after super tuesday, almost half of the states will hold primaries/caucuses. i doubt that the other candidates are going to do much with those states.
what will paul do? that is the question. but with 25 million+ he is guaranteed to do something.
LETS GET HIM SOME MORE MONEY SO THAT SOMETHING WILL BE HUGE!

Yeah while we're in a tough spot right now, and while some of us like myself are quite down about it and losing hope, I still remain confident Paul has a plan and a strategy.
Ron Paul is a really brilliant man, its not just like he has the right ideas about things, you can just tell he is a wise man that is much smarter than the average person. So I have confidence he has some kind of plan.

Ron Paul is a Chessmaster, a political Genious, someone who looks to the future not just 5 minutes from now.

Ron Paul has a plan.
1. Start a revolution. Even if he doesn't win he wins by changing the future.
2. He has a history of being a great campaigner. He knows what he is doing.
The fight for freedom never ends. Fascism is always around the corner.

He can be angry and forceful when he wants to be. The Morton Downey videos are proof of this (elsewhere on forums, fyi). When you really get him upset, he can be a all-knowing powerhouse. I wish he started that campaign earlier though. Just starting now with the Faux News debate may actually be too later, but we shall see.

Ron Paul usually not only has to fight his opponents, but the Republican party as well! He's no stranger to adversity, and I have faith in him.

Personally, I get the feeling that Ron Paul is using us as a smoke screen for what he is really planning. The opposition is supposed to THINK that we are his secret weapon (and we are a huge one, but not secret), but really we are there to get the opposition's eyes off of the ball. Already they are focusing on us, and several of them are having money problems, while he still has much money and is hopefully about to get another good money bomb.
As Jack Sparrow would say, I believe he's waiting for the opportune moment, and at that moment I think it is going to be a shitstorm of legitimate smear ads and major national adverts when he goes on complete offense and takes everyone by surprise, just before most of the primaries hit so no one has time to forget it. Until then, I think it is up to us to generate as much hype as we possibly can up until that point.

LoL, it'd be funny if he played that for a McCain smear IMO :)

Honestly, I want to be optimistic and hope there is a "secret plan" that will win it for him. But at the same time I can't help but be negative. What is he going to do? Run an ad saying "look how much money I have; look how much money these candidates have; want them to run the country the way they're running their campaigns?"? He has a lot of catching up to do. Maybe a stunt, like calling Hillary and/or Obama to a debate with a tentative VP. Give Walter Williams a call and ask him to participate in a debate with him against the frontrunning Democrats. I don't know...
He's running an honest campaign and doesn't want the same political team and tactics that may have thrusted Reagan into the mainstream. That's why he sees Reagan as a failure - he got sucked into the same old Washington and didn't seek to accomplish what he ran on.

Thing is if he is able to run the others dry or mostly dry and goes on a massive advertising campaign right before primaries they aren't going to be able to respond. They are blowing all their money on these first states to try and get in the lead, but who is going to vote for them if they don't see anything before THEIR primaries, when Ron Paul support is going through the roof?

Why does everyone keep saying this?
He hasn't even had 1 million in donations this year! They asked for 23 million by the end of this month!!

Because I find it likely that he is asking for slightly more than he needs, in order to get what he really needs. We have the moneybombs coming up, and that will certainly help, but I do see your point. I am not sure that it will be as big as past ones, but I have hope. Either way, negativity benefits none of us. Remember, the forums are public. He can't tell us much without risking others finding out his strategy. Let us agree that he is an intelligent man, and has overcome the odds in the past.
