View Full Version : My $1 each 8 1/2x11 magnetic signs I made today

My magnetic blanks came in the mail today, so using some art of these boards and some of mine I made these for $1 each. I just took a spin at 75mph and they held on fine. I'm waiting for the UV waterproof spray I ordered to coat them. I would sure like to see other peoples signs, i might want to copy some.

How did you make those and where did you get the magnets? I'm really interested in putting something like that together.

Did some googling:

These are 5 sheets for $7, there are probably better deals out there too.

Edit: Posted at same time as above post, his link has em 3 for $1.23, so ignore mine.

Are these 8.5x11 like regular paper or are they bigger?

That is there exact size but most printers can print 2x2 or more so you put them together to make bigger picture.

I failed to mention earlier that there are several types of magnetic material, only a few can be used outdoors and are strong enough to be used on a car.

I just thought about your original question on how I made these might mean the graphic parts. I took images or works by others or google images and used these two great free programs

http://www.photofiltre.com/ like photoshop

http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm excellent picture program and add words to a picture

I would love to put several of those on my car, but I would be concerned that people would take them off (since they're just magnets--not stickers). I've been thinking about getting some of that paint stuff that people use to write/draw things on their car windows. I would love to turn my jeep into a "Ron Paul-mobile." Since I live right next to the University of Tenessee, I could park in various places around campus so as to better get the word out.
Oh, and by the way, I've seen more Ron Paul bumper stickers than any other candidate lately (except for Kerry/Edwards stickers, which are still all over the place for some reason). But yeah.

Peace!

Is anyone doing a large clear film with the 'Revolution' logo that I can put in my Jeep's back window?

That's what I do; doesn't look that great, but I get to change up the message depending on how I feel. I get much honking and thumbs-up. Even passed out few dvds in stand-still traffic to interested.

It would be great if someone would sell these for maybe $5 each.

I'd pay at least that much to get 2 for my car.

I love the Hope For America one, the only thing I would ass to it is his goals to reduce government spending and eliminate the IRS.

The local "Steve the sign guy" is selling these for $45 a pair, so if you can make em and sell em cheaper, I'll buy a set too.

If you can sell them to the masses on Ebay and generate funds to crank out more and make a donation to the campaign, then go for it. Capitalism is a good way to spread the message too.

You want to sell some of your rEVOLution magnets?

These are even better than bumper stickers, guys. I have an 8x10 on one side of my car, and people are always looking at it and commenting on it. They ask me if I'm with the campaign and "is Ron Paul here?"

But I would rather have one of the rEVOLution ones.

I don't know why it didn't work for you I just clicked on it, it worked. Just look thru Ecost search engine under "magnet inklet"

They're so cheap who cares besides as someone else mentioned on these boards he has used magnet signs and rarely does anybody bother them. Also if someone did take them maybe they will be displayed.

Here is the link for the revolution sign you just copy the picture and print it out and in the printer option box on page lay out put strerch to fit page and set the borders to 0. Adjust the gamma brightnest levels if you want and make a test print 1st on regular paper to see how it will turn out.

I don't have to much time now to sell on ebay but I'll think about it.

If you have a color printer just order magnet paper but make sure it is for cars and outdoors.

Man from La Mancha,

Thank you for sharing this. You can actually also cut these sheets into half and pretty much get two regular sized bumper stickers.

I know a LOT of passive Ron Paul supporters (as opposed to us activists) that I work with who would agree to put something less permanent like a magnet on their car but for whatever reason do not want to put a sticker on their car. I bet there's probably people in this forum that are like this as well and this is a good way to reproduce a lot of magnets for cheap.

Have you found any other supplies for the "automobile grade" magnet sheets, as well as any other supplies for those bulk ink kits?

I sent this thread to our group a couple of times and nobody seemed as intrigued by it as I am so I think I'm going to by the equipment and at our next meeting see if anyone will help out with the costs. That usually works better than getting funds first.

Also would anybody have any of the RON PAUL rEVOLution artwork that would fit one of these sheets cut in half (4.25" x 11")??

EDIT: The following link for the magnetic sheets is also no longer valid: http://www.ecost.com/detail.aspx?edp=3077712

Can someone just sell me some magnets?

I dont have the time to make, printer or whatever them, I am too busy organizing for several activities here. (And my printer is not hooked up)

I need a half dozen to a dozen by the middle of next week for a planned convoy. If anyone wants to sell me some at a decent price then hit up this thread or my box.

I would also like to buy some of these magnetic revolution banners either preprinted or blank to print myself but preferably preprinted. I can't seem to find the blanks on the website that was linked to earlier in this thread. Can anyone point us in the right direction or print some to sell?

This post is a little old and it doesn't seem like anybody is doing this and selling them yet. Though since nobody else is, and nobody in my groups want to do this, I was going to take the onus on myself and buy that bulk print cartridge and the magnetic sheets and crank out as many as I can.

Need to find a source for automotive grade magnetic sheets now! That one website is way too unorganized to sift through for those and a "Magnet" or "magnetic" search yields no results.

Again, we MUST make sure they are automotive grade sheets like the OP said so they do NOT blow off the car while driving!

I saw another thread here where someone was selling these for $35 each. I am sure that those are professional grade or something, but that price is way outside of my reach. If several of us share the price of getting some made even if they are not perfect then hopefully we will find that we can reach this $1 each that the op of this thread made his for.

They sold out of the magnetic blanks at that source. Here is the cheapest one I could find you just have to cut them out to shape and buy a 10ft roll.

I also found the original sheets I showed before but not on sale now. Now $4 a sheet
