I wish that he would consider doing an address to the nation. He needs to look in the camera and talk to the American people.

Look at his exploratory video:

He needs to do his own state of the union...

I agree, the first full speech I heard from him (almost live) was his speech on Jan. 8.

Hell yes he does.

This is a brilliant idea.

Ron Paul is a trend setter. He was the first candidate to go to the spin room and take questions.

And if he does this, Clinton, Romney, and all the others will follow in his footstep, copying this move.

hadn't seen that video yet. It's a good one.

Wow, I'd never seen that. Powerful message. This is what he needs to be stressing at every opportunity. Anytime someone in the MSM asks him a question he should answer it succinctly then turn it around and deliver this message.

Unfortunately, if he tried this, do you think the mainstream media will show up and report on it?

It might get a mention or a short snippet, but it wouldn't be widely broadcast like one by a "mainstream" candidate.

Agreed. Call the campaign and try to get someone to listen.

I agree, too. He's great at speaking to people from his heart.

Huge Bump!!!

Absolutely he does need to strike some emotions. He needs to relax, look at the camera and speak from the heart.

"My fellow Americans. I am running for the president of United States because I am deeply concerned about the future of our country. I love America and I know you do too. My record demonstrates my unwaivering dedication to the principles of our founding fathers. If my advice was followed we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today. I ask you to stand up and join the fight against the special interest, runaway federal spending and uncontrollable foreign policy we cannot afford. Together we can make America great again. Stand up and let you vote be counted."

I thought only the president can make an address to the nation. Why would Ron be allowed to, or would it cost money?

It would cost money, probably around 2 million for 5-6 minutes on a major network during primetime.

to go on a national broadcast channel, put the quill back up with the cost of a 10 minute speech. I am sure it would work.

but if it is done like the campaign has done any audio/visual thing in the past IT WILL WITH 98% CERTAINTY be a DISASTER!

Just remember the infomercial: POLL Infomercial-If at all possible, should it be improved? (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=58412&highlight=iowa+infomercial): http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=58412&highlight=iowa+infomercial

45% of us agreed it was crappy. Only 22% thought it was good. 32% thought it was okay.

LOL and what media outlet is actually going to carry it?

Fox News would probably play clown music and Rudy's cackling in the background.

I'm thinking that he needs a competing state of the union address... Sort of like "that's their version - now here's what's real."

I think it would be a brilliant stroke.

I really really hope this happens.

Seeing Ron Paul speak directly to the American people would be so helpful for this campaign.
