Great tune and very much relevant to Ron Pauls leanings. What does everything think?

Heck yeah. We need an endorsement along with the song though.

I also recomend this song by Haggard, but it's not upbeat enough I don't think.

That would've presented a strong message a couple months ago.

If we got an endorsement and made a commercial with that I think it'd be ultra-effective.

Moreso than Chuck Norris even ;)

Willie Nelson and the campaign season

"Oh, yes, and it's campaign season, and politics is something the blunted one embraced long before he jogged the White House lawns with Jimmy Carter. This early in the race, he's still hedging his bets.
"Jimmy Carter would be good, but I don't think he would do it. I've been supporting Dennis Kucinich since he came out against the war. But his chances...who knows? I like the representative, Ron Paul, from Texas. He makes a lot of sense. Bill Richardson is a good friend of mine, too. He wouldn't be a bad choice.""

I'm digging this song and it's lyrics match up what we're trying to accomplish....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=C08qgRjibq8

Lyrics?

If we go we go the distance - we go all out.
And if you force us to fight - we go for the knockout.
We haven’t always been the same men we are today.
It took fire to purify us what didn’t burn is what remained.

If we run then we run, but we won’t be the same.
Leaving excuses for the weak.
If we run then we run, but we won’t be the same.
And we’ll only have ourselves to blame.

We are growing ever stronger the more we die,
The enemy will never take us; will never take us alive.
Sometimes it’s with our eyes closed that we find our sight.
Sometimes it’s in the darkness we see the light.

Today I stopped asking what it means and just believed.
You gotta believe; right now.
And now the truth of it is we already got all that we’ll ever need.

I had E-mailed Merle and the Record Label some time ago. I had not gotten a response.
If he is betting on Hillery he will be sadly disappointed.
I love the song.

Merle Haggard officially endorsed Hillary Clinton.

Do you have any proof of that?

Nah... The song "America" by Hugh Laurie (of House, M.D. fame)

...is much simpler and easier to learn:

To the one who asked if I had proof that Merle Haggard endorses Hillary -

It has been on radio, TV, and in the press. He's even written a song about her! There are hundreds of online articles about it, but here's a good one to start with:

That is both unfortunate and disappointing.
I still like the song.

I'm a White Boy
by Merle Haggard
from the album A Working Man Can't Get Nowhere Today [Capitol, 1977]

Some folks call me a ramblin' man
I do a lot of thumin' and kickin' cans
And it wouldn't do an ounce of good to call my name.
Cause Daddy's name wasn't Willie Woodrow
I wasn't born and raised in no ghetto
Just a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

Well I'm out to find me a wealthy woman
And a line of work that don't take no diploma.
I ain't got much to lose but got a lot to gain.
Well some might call me a good-time fella'
I ain't black and I ain't a yella'
Just a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

Yeah, I don't want no hand-out living
and don't want a part of any thing they're givin'
I'm proud and White and I got a song to sing.
Well I've said a few things and I'll admit it.
If you want to get ahead you gotta hump and get it.
I'm a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

Hump and get it now...

Umm.Hummm

Yeah, I'm a small town boy been around a little.
I like guitars and I like a fiddle
And that's the kind of soul it takes to fan my flame.
Well I'm a blue-eyed Billy kind of frail and ruddy
So I'll have to work to be somebody.
I'm a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

I don't want no hand-out living
and don't want a part of anything they're givin'.
I'm proud and White and I got a song to sing.
Well I've said a few things and I'll admit it.
If you want to get ahead you gotta' hump and get it.
I'm a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

I'm a White boy lookin' for a place to do my thing.

We were surprised. I think he just hates warmongering police state Republicans.

True, perhaps he didn't get a chance to learn about Dr. Paul before he made his endorsement.

The way he performs the HC song sounds like he's not serious.
