I contacted my Representative's representatives (staff) and asked that he support this bill.

Call your representatives today and ask them to support HR 2605: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/congdir.tt

The more messages they get on this particular bill the more they will lean towards supporting it.

Email I sent to everyone I know.

Here is an online petition that will be delivered to the US Congress.
http://www.petitiononline.com/hr2605/petition.html

You only have to give a first name and click "sign".

What this petition is regarding is a bill written that will remove The President's Unconstitutional Authority to declare war on Iraq (or any nation) without the explicit approval from Congress.
This Congressional Approval is required and explicitly written in the Constitution, therefore, the war in Iraq is essentially illegal.

This petition is simply saying to your Representatives in Congress to support this bill as a means to end the war in Iraq and will eliminate the possibility for the President to declare war on Iran without Congressional Approval.

If you agree, please sign this petition and send it to everyone you know who wants the war ended.
If you disagree, please disregard.

I signed it.. This is a brilliant strategy, instead of DIRECTLY confronting the Iraq war, he's taking away the responsibility under the righteous move in favor of the constitution.

It is after all, CONGRESS'S constitutional power to declare war... anyone who votes against it, therefore, is unamerican.

I tried to send them to mine, but people in my meetup complained they are getting too much email and now the organizer has to approve anything before being sent. Kinda anti-Ron Paul ain't it?!

Eh, good to have a bit of order when it comes to people's inboxes.

Your organizer should send out an email letting people know that they can get just one email a day that contains all the emails sent out in the past 24 hours. They have to log in to MeetUp.com and change their email settings.

I sent this to my local meetup organizer, signed the petition, and sent emails to my FL representatives in DC.

I suggest digging this article on the matter:

http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Iraq_War_Opposition_Makes_for_Strange_Alliances

It avoids mentioning ron in the title, appeals to curiosity, and already has 32 diggs.

The HR 2605 not only will this get Ron Paul media attention but it will put the other Presidential candidates like Obama and Hiliary in a trap, either sign it and help Ron Paul's campaign or don't vote for the bill and look like a war monger.;)
