I've been reading news, and watching MSNBC (home sick today), and I have noticed that RP has authored a bill to remove GWB's authority to wage war without Congressional Approval. IE..it's a back door to end the war.

It sounds like he's already got alot of support on the Democratic side.
That being said, if this bill passes, RON PAUL can tell EVERYONE he wrote the bill that ENDED THE WAR IN IRAQ!!!

Do you know how HUGE that is?!?!?

We need to assemble and email our congressmen/women and tell them to support his bill and END THIS WAR!

If he could state that he wrote the bill to end the war, it would be a HUGE boost to his Campaign!!

Note: He did this way back on June 7. I wish there was an easy way to know what bills he is introducing, so we could all push our reps to get behind them. Anyone know of something of which I am not aware?

like the one to Anuzis but demanding our congressman to back this bill, you'll get thousands.

I just emailed my House Rep. How about you?

Seems like Dr. Paul would publicize this a little more since it might get him some more name recognition with the anti war people following the bill.

Maybe not his style.

Hope he gets a chance to bring this up the the Aug 5 debate. I'm starting to dread these debates, the way he gets skipped, cut off, belittled. At least he should be able to get his legislation mentioned.

Verbage sound ok?

(i'm not good at this stuff)

We The People, who have signed this petition, urge all members of Congress, to fully support H.R. 2605: To establish a sunset for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243) in an effort to indirectly end the war in Iraq.

We the people of the United States of America demand that our congressman back the bill H.R. 2605: To establish a sunset for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243). We understand that UN Resolutions against the Iraqi state have been enforced and thus there is neither any obligation for the people of the United States to fund nor its military to engage in any further activities in Iraq, other than withdrawal activities. We further demand that no additional funds be given to any operation in Iraq that are not related to withdrawal of all of our military forces.

Great thought

Does anyone for one minute think that any of Demopublicans or the Republicrats will actually give such a chance to any person making a presidential run that is not in the favorite top 2 or 3 candidates?

This indeed would send RP soaring to the top of the list and begrudgingly the Main Stream Media would gag and choke down this shocker.

SO all those in their duly elected position who claim not agree with GWB - do you have the nads to make good on your chance?

RP is giving the Republican Party good name! ;)

RP is just plain Cool!:D

PS RP will be there (in the top 3) real soon - then the R's & D's can wave their flag of support.

It says on the congressional website that H.R. 2605 was referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on 6/7/2007.

That committee is chaired by Tom Lantos.

What I want to know, is why the democrat majority congress, with a democrat committee chairman, has been sitting on this bill for over a year. I wonder if most democrats are aware that this has been going on. I kinda doubt it.

Could it just possibly be because the democrat congressional leadership doesn't want to support a republican's bill to end the war? It seems like they're more interested in obstructionism and playing political games rather than getting our people out of that pit. I guess they'd prefer to have late night pizza parties in the senate.

I think it would be neat if RP supporters started taking out full-page adds asking the democrats why they've been blocking H.R. 2605.

*Edit* Ok, I'm dumb and thought I was living in 2008. So sue me. 8P

I don't think in an election year many democrats would vote against this bill. In the debates last night Edwards and Hillary were being ridiculed for VOTING FOR THE WAR 5 years ago.

If they vote against any kind of bill to bring troops home NOW, they would be crucified during the Democratic debates.
