Run Linux. :) Or a Mac.
Seriously however, you can run one browser full equipped with Java and another streamlined for normal use. There are some Ron Paul IRC chats out there (like RonPaulRadio) but IRC requires extra moderation and you can't control the login like we can here. So that's part of why we like it. :)
