Here is my plan for translating the firestorm of support for Ron Paul that exists on the internet, into the printed press of every single city in America:

The website will display a map of the 50 US States. Each State will display two figures. 1. Emails appearing in print 2. Direct responses appearing in print. Users will be directed to email their local newspapers with letters of support for Ron Paul. The user will then be directed to post that article + email address of that newspaper on the website for all to see, once it appears in print. Then, anyone browsing that post will be directed to write in to that newspaper to directly concur with the post, or to argue against anyone who is printed directly disagreeing. The original poster will be directed to update the post whenever either of these occur. This way, all of RPs online supporters across the nation can be organized into a national printed press consuming swarm, utilizing a simple member protocol directed from a central location.

Here is the simplified version of the plan:

You go the page...you write an email to your local paper...once you see it printed then you post it on my page...then everyone can see your printed email, and they can write the same paper to agree with you, or to disagree with anyone who is printed saying you are wrong, since you check your paper and add all that to your post.

About three months ago I found out about Ron Paul, and I was immediately obsessed. The next day I dreamed up this solution for the grassroots campaign. I designed the mock ups: http://picasaweb.google.com/P.Ivcec/NewAlbum110108456PM?pli=1 and immediately set about finding people to help me build the site. For whatever reason I was not able to immediately get a volunteer programmer to just build it. Perhaps because I chose to be selective about which technologies would be used, because I was operating on the advice of someone I know whose opinion I trusted.

I ended up borrowing $800 dollars from my dad to have some programmers in India build it, because I thought that was all I could afford to get the job done. They built the back end for me, but when it came time to do the front end, then they were not sure how to do it.

I went to the grassroots, to find someone there to help me finish it, and I ended up finding a Java programmer who wanted to rebuild the whole site for me. He did a really good job building about half of the website: http://letters4liberty.whsites.net/emailblast/usmap.iface but then he ran out of time to finish the project, though he is still available for consultation, as I continue to see this project through.

I went back to the grassroots to find someone to finish this project, and ended up going back to cheaper offshore programmers because no one from the grassroots with the right skills emerged to complete the project. The first programmer that I spent maybe $80 on ended up not working out, because I did not realize that there were some specific skills that I needed to look for beyond just Java and Hibernate.

I was able to find another programmer with all of the right skills to complete the project, and he is working out very well, and most of the project will be complete over this weekend. I have a very high degree of confidence in this programmer, in part because of the fact that the website that I'd hired him through allows me to get screen shots of what he is doing roughly every 10 minutes while I'm getting billed. Also, the level of communication between us is excellent. Most importantly, I am receiving steady results.

I've now spent another $200 of my own money towards this programmer. Also, I have collected $400 of a $500 dollar chip in: http://letters4liberty.chipin.com/letters4liberty that I set up the other day, which is great.

Unfortunately, during this time that I have been focusing on this project completely, I have remained unemployed, and my other credit card besides the one collecting for my chip in has long overdue payments on it, and it's about to get cancelled. I'm going to set up another $500 chip in on that card now: http://letters4liberty.chipin.com/letters4liberty2 so that I can continue to posses financial means and complete this project ASAP.

Once again, I've now spent $1000 of my own money on this, and I have asked for $500 so far, and I'm going to ask for another $500 now.

Once this project is complete very soon, it is going to help this whole movement out in a very profound way. Please at least bump this post if you are not able to donate at all.

Thanks

Petar

Communication between me and my programmer is excellent. Steady progress is being made. Next Monday at the latest I hope.
