Can someone help me understand how Milton Friendmann was an advocate of shock to stimulate the economy. I always admired this guy, but was he really this immoral or is this just liberal garbage spew.

I was calling people in my precinct for the grassroots central project and I encountered a guy that really liked Ron Paul but didn't think his domestic, economic policies are feasible. I continued to try to explain that free markets were the best way to take care of everyone equally because yourself as an individual has the most influence on the course of your life. Then at the end he recommended The Shock Doctrine (http://www.shockdoctrine.com).

 The short film was completely nuts and I can see how it would be feasible in a federal reserve fiat economy, but is this really true of a true free market?
