That was very offensive. The man is showing his true colors. We can't have a xenophobe like that for Prez.

A burka is something some muslim women wear that covers their entire body and often their face as well. Women in Afghanistan during the Taliban rule - were forced to wear them.

Can't be racist against a religion.
He has a point too.
Yea it was.
It was stereotypical racism.

We need one of those quick clips that have McCain saying this, the reverses, then plays, over and over..., then he says it again with some crazy war music in the background. Wish I had some talent to do these things lol

Racism in society today is alright if it's toward Arabs/Muslims.

I think you need a dictionary, unless you believe "Islamic" is a race now.
it doesn't matter what a dictionary says. it matters what was in his heart - what HE meant.
that was a racist comment because HE is the one who confuses islam, with arabs. it was meant to demean arabs.
HE IS A RACIST!!!
but then, i guess it all depends on what "is" is.

He did, but it wasn't very overwhelming. Probably only the Ron Paul supporters booed him.

If anything should be the death nail to McCain it's this blatently antagonistic attitude toward the Muslim world. This is just reckless!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...I'm glad I wasn't the only one who picked up on that one.
He certainly didn't get any applause from the South Carolina crowd though....I don't know if you noticed, but there was almost a slight hush/whispering in the crowd actually. I'm sure it won't go unnoticed - besides Faux News who didn't even ask him about that on the spin afterwards.

As someone intelligently pointed out, Islam is not a race and al qaida and the taliban would absolutely prefer every woman, whether Islamic or not, to be cloaked in an oppressive burkha.
Another fact that some may not be aware of, is that men and women of Arabic countries do not make up the mass of Islam. Asian people make up the majority of those that follow the faith of Islam.
Be careful in trying some of these techniques. People of ALL races, including men and women from around the world (black, white, asian, european and other descents) practice the faith of Islam. Without knowledge, this can quickly backfire. Be informed and know what you are saying, so that it doesn't make us look bad.

McCain just lost every single Arab in Michigan haha.
As if he ever had them in the first place... what an idiot... he uses the same lines about a million times (ugggh!!!) and he wants to say in Iraq 100 years. Idiot... this ain't Europe we're talking about. You occupy a middle eastern nation that's seen as an affront to the Muslim people's beliefs.

You have missed the point. Ron Paul was not talking about the Taliban specifically. He was talking about the MidEast. What McCain responded with was a bigoted, xenohphobic comment, implying that the entire MidEast is the Taliban and they all want women to wear burkhas. Moreover, the Taliban isn't even IN the Middle East. Afghanistan is not considered a part of the ME.
We are arguing over semantics. Racist, bigot, xenophobe, same thing. The point is what he said was totally uncallled for and should be dealt with just like when African-Americans or Jews are verbally abused.

paul called him out directly on wanting us in iraq for 100 years too
"how can you possibly commit five more of our young generation to iraq?!"
mccain is just a power hungry war loving guy.

And they are clueless. It's extremely dangerous to have men like them being involved in foreign policy.

We should make a youtube video compiling all of the Arab stereotypes interwoven into the other candidates' answers.
Combine the McCain clip with Romney's "Sayed Q-Tip" remark from the other debate (ABC).
It is disgusting not only that these guys would say this, but they obviously understand it will score them points with their audience to use these sort of epiphets. Its a sad commentary.

Well, he sure does love those illigal aliens from Mexico. By the way, are Arabs a race of peoples? I know their skin colors seem to span the spectrum. My wife is an Arab (Lebanese) and any time she has to signify her race she marks the "white" box.
Frankly, I think you are too PC for your own good. Ya know, the term "racist" was dreamed up by the neo con god, Leon Trotsky, about 110 years ago as a propaganda tool to advance communism. Think about that.
