View Full Version : They want smears?! Let's give them smears!

Hi,
I have been lurking for some time now – but the newsletter smear has enraged me enough to post. I was very encouraged by Ron Paul's appearance on CNN tonight; I think the biggest problem he will face in the future is that if he ever gets serious traction, more yellow journalism will hound him and low-lives like Romney will attack ad the hell out of him (the stuff in the newsletters is damning, and Romney couldn't care less about the truth behind who wrote them, and he will just use them for full advantage). I was thinking that it may be useful for the forum to do all of the legwork collectively in gathering smear material against the other candidates for when they start to dredge this stuff up again. I think this is likely beneath the official campaign, but the grassroots should have this material in hand for when other candidates and their supporters act "holier than thou". The MSM won't do this, so we may as well! (Do any of you believe that Kirchick is working feverishly to uncover all of the offensive speech ever used by the other candidates for future exposés?!)
I started with McCain below, but others can add to this for McCain and other candidates.

As a preface, let's forget about the fact that Ron Paul is NOT a racist or homophobe, has never promoted a racist or anti-gay law, has never delivered a racist or anti-gay speech, and has never personally (verifiably) written anything racist or anti-gay. Let's forget that he has openly honored and praised African American heroes of his (and even an Indian one). And let's also forget about the current oppression, maiming and murder of "people of color" in the Middle East that is denounced by him and yet is so gleefully supported by the major Republican (and to a lesser extent) Democratic candidates – because, of course, promoting and perpetrating death and mayhem is far more socially acceptable and politically correct than using or possibly using offensive words. And, instead, let's stick to what the candidates have said and who they have hung out with, and innuendo and implication, because that is what we are told so clearly matters the most in the end. Here is a quick summary of what I found Googling for McCain today:

"It is unknown whether McCain will, on Wednesday, condemn Richard Quinn, his chief South Carolina advisor, who edits a racially controversial magazine called Southern Partisan. During his campaign, McCain brushed off requests from the liberal interest group People for the American Way when it asked him to fire Quinn. According to the group, Quinn's articles have called Nelson Mandela a "terrorist" and King a man "whose role in history was to lead his people into a perpetual dependence on the welfare state, a terrible bondage of body and soul." In another piece, Quinn said of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, "What better way to reject politics as usual than to elect a maverick like David Duke?" though he did condemn Duke's bigotry."

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/04/02/mccain-falwell/ sides with the man who said this:
"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharaoh's charioteers . . . AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."

my next video will be an "attack/truth" ad, so any information like this is useful and I will use it.
