I'm a Thomistic Catholic with some shades of Deism, basically a fan of St. Aquinas and the early leaders of the Dominican Order, I have a fair share of skepticism towards the Church in matters of politics and I outright reject Ecumenicalism.

I did, then explained as requested.

i think it's great that we have so much diversity

Ron Paul is big tent!

Again, what's the point? Religion only serves to divide in instances like this.

On the contrary, this shows that we are united despite our different beliefs. The Freedom message brings people together. Dr. Paul's campaign is a testament to the fact that we are modern Americans of various backgrounds who want liberty!

I don't remember which poster wrote this but I've been using it a lot with my calls to Iowans. " There's no more right or left, only right and wrong", which sums up the diversity and unique qualities of each Ron Paul supporter.

This is one time when religion has no strong-hold on us. We are all united because of the message and not nitpicking with abstractions and obstructions.

i think one thing is clear so far - we need to get out there and reach the Hindu/Buhddist vote! :)

I'll start working on the cab drivers at work. Almost all of them are Indian/Pakastani. I am interested in what they have to say about the subject anyways. I've already met a fellow from Dubai who is actually quite sympathetic.

Already on it, I've spoken with two old friends I went to high school with who are from India, I've also spoken with a very nice lady at my local Dunkin' Donuts who liked my Ron Paul t-shirt, we'll win them over yet.

I agree with the poster that religion divides. And I'm protestant.

If we're trying to appeal to the core base of the republican party this is not something we should be discussing openly. I doubt the number of atheist among the hardcore republican voters is very high at all. If they saw the percentage of people here that are atheist I believe it would turn them off. I'm not trying to start a debate on this issue, but simply stating the truth. Ron Paul is Christian and that's what the people should know, not what his supporters are.

You are missing LaVeyan Satanist and Devil Worshipper options.

Good poll, shows how diverse Ron's supporters really are. I'm not worried about threads like this turning off typical GOP conservatives, I don't see them seeking out Ron Paul message boards in the first place.

Actually you never know who just might be lurking on these boards. The field of candidates on both sides imo do not relate very well to Christians. This could be huge because Ron Paul is a Christian and it could pay huge dividends on election day.

I'm an atheist but I had to choose "Other" because the question reads, "What Religion are you a member of?" and atheism is not a religion....

wow, really surprised to see so many atheists such as myself. And you see, it doesn't bother a one of us that Ron Paul is a Christian. As we all know, there are Christians and there are Christians. There is the Dubya kind of Christian and there is the Ron Paul kind of Christian - who takes the admirable tenets of Christianity and lives them out - and has no particular interest in making me or anyone a Christian also.
