Murray Sabrin: The Gold Standard of "Ron Paul Republicans"

The Ron Paul Revolution expands to New Jersey with Dr. Paul endorsing US Senate candidate

Jersey City, NJ – Presidential candidate Ron Paul, the Republican Congressman from Texas who inspired a massive nationwide outpouring of grassroots support and record-breaking fundraising, has endorsed his friend and colleague of 25 years, Dr. Murray Sabrin, for the GOP nomination for US Senate in New Jersey.

"Murray has devoted his entire career to promoting limited government and personal freedom, and I am proud to have known him and worked with him for more than 25 years," said Paul. "He will not only be an outstanding representative of the people of New Jersey, but the greatest advocate of liberty and constitutional principles the US Senate has seen in decades. I am delighted to endorse him and encourage all Americans who believe in freedom to support him enthusiastically."

"I am very proud to receive Ron’s endorsement and to lead the Ron Paul Revolution in New Jersey," Dr. Sabrin stated. "We will continue to focus our efforts in New Jersey towards Ron Paul’s victory on February 5th, my victory on June 3rd, and our combined victory on November 4th."

Sabrin and Paul met in 1982 at a monetary conference sponsored by the CATO Institute, and have been friends ever since. Dr. Sabrin credits Dr. Paul for harmonizing a strong defense of the pro-life position with the limited government principles that both men espouse.

Dr. Sabrin was one of the earliest supporters of Ron Paul’s presidential campaign in New Jersey, which has a February 5 primary date and is a winner-take-all battleground that looks to be in play given the faltering campaign of its one-time frontrunner.

Murray Sabrin, a noted academic, author, and philanthropist, is a business professor at Ramapo College in New Jersey. He and his wife Florence of 39 years reside in Bergen County. For more information, please visit http://www.murraysabrin.com.

If Sabrin actually wins, he's a potential successor to Paul in leading this R3volution in future election cycles. He has the exact same beliefs and Libertarian Party backstory (having run on the LP line before), and if elected will have the standing as a senior elected official. To the extent it is possible, the grassroots should help his candidacy succeed, especially if Paul bows out.

Is there a central location on this board for supporting other candidates that adhere to the lib/const ideals?

I think it's importaint to help these people get in office no matter what state they come from...time to start re-tooling the G.O.P population.

Read some of the articles on his site. They're all about Ron Paul. :)

I visited Sabrin's site, and I thought it was great how he had the gold bar with the logo - "Ron Paul Republican - The Gold Standard" printed on it.

Perhaps this will be the name of the new group of legislators that will be elected having been inspired by Ron Paul. Inpired as Ron Paul Republicans, they can be labeled as the Gold Standard of Republicanism. The Cream of the Crop. The Real Deal - the ones who actually reflect the party's platform.

I had often envisioned a "Ron Paul Caucus" or a "Liberty Caucus" emerging as these people were elected, but perhaps Sabrin has provided the title - Gold Standard Republicans, or the Gold Standard Caucus. And not simply because of their belief in sound money, but because they represent the very best of what the party has to offer.

And whether or not Ron Paul is elected, this movement will continue to study, to change minds, to become elected. And pretty soon, the Gold Standard Caucus will be able to turn to the GOP at large with a sizable voter base it will be able to deliver. Add to that all the Re-Love-Lutionaries who are gaining so much valuable election experience during this campaign, and the path by which this movement will mature and grow starts to become clear.

It's going to be awesome as we go forward, and Ron Paul is no longer voting alone. (Well, I guess he won't be voting at all - he'll be vetoing unconstitutional bills).
